Players leaving women's basketball program?

Post by GB68 »

Heard a pretty reliable rumor three players have left/are leaving the BGSU women's basketball team. Any truth?

That's ugly. If I had to guess, Carly, Maddie and Rachel K would be my guesses. Hope not on the first two.

I don't know if it means anything, but another possibility is Sarah Baer. It was pointed out in the Miami-BGSU telecast that Sarah played last year but she "didn't fit into the system" this year and her PT has been reduced. She played 337 minutes last year and 72 this season.

Hoops Fan,

Why do you feel that it is necessary to throw out names when they are just guesses on your part? It is not fair to the players on the program to have their names listed in this discussion.

Probably will get some idea on the validity of this rumor on April 10th when the Women's Awards Banquet is.

A. Because players and their friends and relatives talk and I heard the conversation
B. Because I said it was a guess.
C. Because I happened to watch the recording of the BG-Miami game. It was a comment from Casey.
D. Because I can.

When a losing team starts the same 5 players and makes very few substitutions it makes me wonder why the other players don't get a chance to play, even if the starters are in a shooting slump. Would you blame any of the 4 I mentioned for leaving?

Why did Bailey Carinduff, or Logan Pastor, or Jessie Tamberlano, or Danielle Havel, or Alexis Rogers, or Lauren Tibbs, or Miriam Justinger come to or leave BG? Well, except for Bob Lindsay, it's a mystery. Transfers are part of the game.

I chose to answer the question because there doesn't seem to be a lot of off season chatter.

Hoops Fan,

Again I hope you would feel the same way if people at your workplace or neighborhood talk about you. You may feel that this kind of chatter is better than no talk, but I feel that this kind of "chatter" serves no purpose.

Watched some very hard working perimeter players going at it in the Stroh. That group is all about getting better. Not going anywhere. Except to class, the weight room, class, the gym, the gym and class. Just happened to see the perimeter group. Bet some interior played are doing same.

We have to get better. They know it. They are working.

Go Falcons!

Sigh,

Take your flame wars to the Hockey forum. No response necessary, I just ignored you...

I do agree that this venue should be for sharing information and personal opinions, concerning the BGSU women's basketball program. In the recent past, I have shared many of my own opinions on this blog, where some have agreed with them, and some not. I believe various opinions here can offer insight to many bloggers, and possibly even a few directly involved with the program. However, there is little difference between rumors and gossip, and if we are responsible fans, our posts should not include heresay, but involve the facts for newsworthy items, and honesty in expressing our views. This blog, especially the last couple of seasons, has not been filled with rosy, feel-good posts of praise for the way the program is going. I, personally, appreciate the insight and honesty of many of the members here, whether I agree with them or not. I can respectfully disagree with others without being rude and hostile, regardless of whether or not the other bloggers treat me with respect. I believe that each of us who post on this blog, should do so in such a way that other bloggers, along with those directly involved with the program, will be treated with fairness and respect. JMHO

Carinduff and Paster left to be closer to home

I think Tamerlano did the same

Havel and Tibbs were recruits and chose to go elsewhere first

Justinger and Rogers fell into our laps. Rogers wanted more team atmosphere than she had at Duke

Every end of season begins the "who's staying/leaving" talk. They do what they do 'cause it's their life and they know what they want.

I always wonder when players leave and other take their place who we might not have gotten if the player had stayed.

The banquet could tell us the answer but they can depart whenever after it.

Have read tweets by others who have seen people working out and having sessions with coaches while Final Four was occurring. Saw Abby going into the back of the Stroh dressed ready for a work-out.

Time will tell but some must know now.... 18-22 year olds work on different schedule.

Whatever happens 4 new people are coming per their signing.

Will see what happens. I'm using the time to save for my tickets and my travels to watch whoever's on the team.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
