BG 100
Ferris State 50

Wonder if the women's team came on the same bus as the men's hockey team to save money.

I don't think Ferris is very good (obviously), but it was nice to see all of our players get playing time & enjoy some success. According to the story on the BG web site, they all played at least 10 minutes and scored at least 3 points.

The first quarter was even in the scoring, but after that, BG blew them out. Santoro scored a steady 11 points, but her defense helped the Falcons and we executed a little full-court press that disrupted their offense. The freshmen looked like freshmen with one exception: Caterrion Thompson. Wow!! She has a sweet shot and scored 21 points all in the 2nd half.

Maddie Cole is improved, Rachel Myers was steady, and it is nice to see Tunstall on 2 good wheels. Sydney Lambert, our Frosh of the year candidate last year, didn't impress this game. All in all, it was a fun game to watch to see the new players.

I like this team. We need to remain healthy. We need to continue to develop the team play/good chemistry I saw yesterday. We have any number of players who can contribute.

Rachel Myers was exceptionally active and confident.

Carly Santoro got out and ran. Those two also helped on the slow em up press which eats shot clock etc. Liked Santoro's rebounding. This team will need everybody who can get a ball getting a ball. That was a key key issue last year.

Lambert and Rachel K will be a better PG tandem than last year given Sydney's experience. Her stat line was meaningless in this exhibition. She played well.

Haley Puk will be a potential key off the bench. She can indeed shoot it in streaky fashion.

Siefker looks healthy and stronger. Likewise Tunstall who as noted looks healthy. I like her attitude and playing the role needed. Likewise Cole.

Glowniak will eventually help. Take a look. Much wider and stronger than most freshman posts yet able to move pretty well. It won't be immediate but I like her potential. And her "I will push you back" attitude. Cecil handles the ball well for a fairly tall person and I would expect experience will be what helps her. It is quite a translation for a player in her position. Uecker is a unique kid who seems like she makes plays while not looking particularly smooth. Again it will be experience. But she has a fun loose personality which helps in my view. Thompson was a scorer and shooter in HS - in either order at times. She has wonderful potential in that area but will have to guard. She knows that.

Go Falcons!
