Here is an update on some Future Falcons who have signed on to play with Bowling Green next season.

Matoon, Illinois 30 - 1 vs Rochester, Illinois 29 - 3 play tomorrow in a 3A tournament game, 3A is the second largest class in Illinois. Rochester is lead by Angela Perry a 6-3 center who averages 15.7 points, 6,9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks this season. Sierra Thompson a 5 - 11 forward plays for Matoon and she averages16.2 points and 11 rebounds per game. You can watch this game on line at Rochesterrocketstv.com on Thursday, February 23 at 8:00. Perry had a team high 21 points to lead her team in the previous game. Thompson had 22 points on Monday as well.

Homestead, Indiana plays for the 4A Indiana state title on Saturday vs Pike High School. Homestead is 27 - 2 and has 3 players who have D1 scholarships to Florida, Bowling Green, and Northern Kentucky. Madisen Parker, BG's recruit, is a 5-8 guard who averages over 17 points per game. She shoots 48.5% from 3 and 91% from the foul line. Many of her games this season can be seen on You Tube. 4A is the big school division in Indiana.

One other point on Madisen Parker of Homestead. In a recent article in the Fort Wayne newspaper, summarizing this season's basketball in Fort Wayne, they voted Parker as one they would choose to take the last shot in a close game. This includes players attending other area schools committed to Florida, Notre Dame, and other D1 schools.

John - you told us two years ago and last year about what great recruits we're getting - and what happens to them once they get here? We are in the bottom of the MAC and will stay here until we get a new coaching staff.

Even though i'm in agreement with the unhappiness that's hit this program, the problem seems to lie mostly with the upper class players. You have 2 soph. Guards who have to lead the way and one of them tries to do too much at times. Cecil looks like she'll be a player once she keeps out of foul trouble, Caterion is an interesting lefty shooter, and one fresh. (Whose name i can't recall now) has been injured, but looked to have some real possibilities before that.
So IF the 4 new ladies are as good as hoped, we COULD see a turnaround next yr. That said, a serious look needs to be made at the entire coaching staff, not just Roos. When Miller was here he was able to build, then keep an asst. staff that seemed to have specific duties with Miller in charge. Right now I don 't see that togetherness. To be fair, i've only seen ONE game in person, the Cincy game. But watching them on TV /ESPN3 etc. shows a LOT of same errors being nade, which reflects back on coaching.
