69-66 w/ 10 secs. left!!!! Achter is awesome!!!!
I agree, though, we need to get both of today's tapes to the MAC office. Last year with Netter was ridiculous, but today was outrageous.

I haven't decided which game had worse refs for. While the men's game had bad ones, their problems seemed more along the lines of not controlling the game. The ladies game refs were just terrible when it came to what fouls even were. Over-the-back was completely out of the rule book...Bleeding Orange wrote: I agree, though, we need to get both of today's tapes to the MAC office. I agree!
Michelle and I were there and that was a farce. UT's inside players were going over our backs all game and didn't get called for any of them. Then their guard stumbles and takes about four steps on the layup that sent it into OT ... it seems that the travel call was taken out of the rule book, too ... at least for them. I think we got called for some travels. What a great win! We played 8-on-5 and still won the game. These tapes definitely need to go to the MAC Office. That was a joke! Plus, Hoogendam had the 'Jordan' rules. She could go over our backs, charge, and travel all night and nothing was called against her. I can't wait until they come down to AA.
Metz ... it was great to see you and the other Anderson Animals down there leading the cheers! Michelle and I were getting pretty vocal ourselves. We should have come down to join you! Can't wait to get to The House That Roars for that DH this Saturday!

ut's fans
they didn't seem to be in the game. outside of the band and a few folks sitting behind the scorer's table, they weren't that in to the game, outside of yelling their typical off-color remarks and personal attacks, there wasn't much cheering ongoing. at one point in th emiddle of the second half, coach miller asked an official to place a security officer behind our bench. typical showing of class by ut's fans.
in talking with one of the players at dinner after the game last night, she said they were appreciative of about our fan support. she said that, at times, it felt like a home game for our ladies. let's keep up the support and travel well!

I couldnt' believe that the refs didn't call a foul when Liz got tackled after her three-pointer and then had the nerve to call a "T" on Coach Miller when he questioned the refs about it. As soon as I saw that the bald guy was one of our refs I knew we were in for it, he never makes any calls for us. I talked to some of the players and their parents after the game and they couldn't believe all the ticcky-tack fouls they called against us, while letting Hoggendam do whatever she wanted.

Well......
Isn't Hoogendam like 6'3 or 6'4? If She is indeed that tall its not surprising that she gets away with stuff like that , it always easier for taller players to get away with certain stuff. Gosh, looks like Mann is going to continue to struggle defensively against good tall centers. Kapfur has to play more. I still can not see why a senior with height that we're lacking can't play more. How is it that Coach Miller doesn't believe enough in her that she plays only when Mann fouls out half the time? Great way to tough it out though for the win! Lets see some more of that good attendance this Wed. at 7:00 pm for Miami.

Re: Well......
were you at the game? did you see what was happening? the officiating? the way our team played? kelly KAPFERER did play some solid minutes, and she was our leading scorer at the half.falconboy wrote: (insert poorly conceived, frequently misspelled, and grammatically devoid comments here. add something about how our team isn't tall enough.)

I'll restate again....
I guess what I really mean is , why isn't Kapfur as a freakin' senior not good enough to start? Someone who supposedly averaged around 30ppg. and 20 rebs. in HS doensn't start as a senior? How does ones skills become less apparent after sitting out just one year? It doens't make any sense. How come we don't see a starting five that consists of Kapfur at center , Mann at forward, then Horne , Lewis and Ackter to round out the lineup. Thorburn has been a little dissappointing as of late. Hope she gets it together soon. I really like Lewis's quickness to start off with , cuz McDowell is not quick at all , can't create her own shot and needs like a year of being open to hit the 3 pt shot, though she has been picking up her percentage big time over last year.

So if we used Falconboy's logic of a senoir should automatically start then our starters would
Kelly
Tene
Kate or Casey
Sakima
Liz or Ali
I like our starting line-up just how it is. If Coach Miller deems it necessary to cahnge the line-up a little bit depending on who were are playing then that is is his right as the head coach. That is one of th things that I love about this year's team is that we have enough talent that they are always pushing each other for starting time.

I don't recall him ever saying a senior should automatically start. He stated a question asking why she isn't good enough to start as a senior but that's completely different. Then he went on to post his ideal starting line-up which consisted of only 2 seniors.BGSU96 wrote:So if we used Falconboy's logic of a senoir should automatically start
While I do disagree with Falconboy sometimes, I see no reason for everyone to be jumping on him all the time. Someone could find something wrong with every post on this site I'm sure. These are peoples opinions and everyone has a right to think or say what they believe so I'm fine with people disagreeing. But when you give no facts as to why, it's pointless. I guess I'm literally used to being the 'bigger' person but in this case I'm just getting sick of having to skip over post after post of people cracking on another feathered friend because someone finds their opinion to be invalid.

Starting Lineups & Playing Time
My position on who plays and how much playing time they get is that I'm not at practice everyday, nor do I scout every opponent to determine where we can exploit certain matchups. Therefore, I don't get on here after every game and complain about someone not playing. Our coaching staff has proven themselves in the short time they have been in place here at BGSU, so I trust them to make those decisions and put us in the best position to win. Hey, let's all get to AA tomorrow night for a big game against Miami! Michelle and I will be trying to hustle up after work ... we might be a tad late for that 7:00 start.
