Presley Griffiths, who had a verbal commitment with BG, has reopened her recruitment.
I hope Elmer and G Martin are happy. Replacements this late will not be as talented.
Santoro I'm not too concerned about. She has regressed since her freshman season. Kennedy Williams I am more disappointed about. I think with the right coach and the right offensive schemes she could have been a really good player and she still will be. As far as losing a freshman recruit, it would been very unlikely for her to see much playing time next year if coach Roos was still here. And yes signing day was 6 weeks ago however there are still some players who are undecided. Also who's to say the new coach can't get this recruit back. It's not the end of the world Hockey John. Next year can't be any worse than the previous two years. As I've stated numerous times I have met and talked with Coach Roos on numerous occasions. Without question she was one of the main reasons are women's program made the sweet 16. However the game of women's basketball has changed over the last five years and she has failed to adapt. Wishing her all the luck going forward.Flipper wrote:We were a doormat with them...so...Hockey John wrote:Also Jordan Strack twitted that Kennedy Williams is also going to transfer.

Here's my suggestion for future recruiting based on BG's most recent past. Unless you want your recruit to transfer early quit recruiting players with the first name Kennedy.Hockey John wrote:Also Jordan Strack twitted that Kennedy Williams is also going to transfer. .
That cannot be! I mean our "all knowing" members here in the world of women's basketball would have been involved in job being posted to begin with and would have set the close date.HoopsFan wrote:We still have another week for HC apps to close.

Wait, that's not how this works..........
Not at all. She had to go, and the department did it the correct way in my opinion by not letting her go at the end of last season. She was here 17 years and a crucial part of some of the most successful seasons in BG Women's Basketball history. Her skill set didn't translate into success as a head coach here. However, some of the personal attacks have been way out of line for the last three years or so.Flipper wrote:So...we shouldn't have fired Roos?
I was very harsh on Coach Roos over the last 4 years but I just didn't like her coaching philosophy. She did well with the players that coach Miller initially taught. Even after coach Miller left his players will still playing the Miller way. I probably attended 15 practices over the last 6 years and it was night and day between coach Miller and Coach Roos. I like Jennifer very much as a friend and I consider her an acquaintance. That said she wasn't able to adjust her coaching styles and her recruiting philosophies we're not working anymore. It was time for a change. Curious to see where Jennifer lands a job. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't join coach Miller staff next year at the WNBA.It's the Journey... wrote:Not at all.
