A weekday matinee at home today vs. Miami who is probably an underachieving 1-4 this season. Common opponent is Valpo, who Miami blew out by 20 and BG beat by 10. Game is on ESPN+!

Pretty tight, but sloppy first quarter. BG up 17-16 and the end of 1Q.

Miami goes into the half with a 34-33 lead. BG is having trouble with Miami’s size so far.

Missed the second half due to work stuff but Lexie Fleming plays heroball again and drops 26 points while fellow freshmen Lewis and Hampton dropped 10 and 11 points en route to a 71-66 win! 6-1 (2-0) on the season. The future is bright!

What a huge win.

BG is 2-0 in the MAC for the first time since 2013-2014.

This is like saying water is wet, but Lexi Fleming is really good. I think the Hampton kid had some nagging injuries etc that kept her out of the first 5 games, but she adds another dimension to this team as well. And, as people have mentioned in recent threads, Lewis is a solid player, too.

I'm not sure where this team will finish in the MAC, but Fralick's trajectory reminds me a LOT of Curt Miller's tenure here at BG. Curt's teams had mediocre records at best during his first two years, then took off in year 3 when he got his own recruits in here. It feels like Fralick is starting to put her stamp on the program, and this year's team has been very fun to watch so far!

It's great to see this proud program coming back into form. The sky seems the limit right now.

I watched the highlights and that Fleming gal looks like she's about 13 years old -- and plays like she's 25. Very impressive. And to have three freshmen step up like this in a league game is very encouraging.

At the risk of any premature speculation: BG women's basketball is back, baby!
