2021 Women's NIT vs. Dayton

Post by GB68 »

Wow! What a win! Some of the toughest, smartest, most determined play we've seen all year--and that's with Lexi Fleming, arm in sling, on the bench. Final score Falcons 77--Flyers 76

This is going to be a huge step in the development of the team, getting to play at least 3 games in this tournament. Losing Lexi hurts, but it allows some others to get more time on the court, which they probably need more than she does.

Am I right that this was the first time Macy Spielman got more significant playing time? I know she'd been injured all of '19-20 and wasn't used that much this season; so I found her contributions in this game to be encouraging. Aside from being Chris Spielman's daughter, she was truly an excellent player here in the Columbus area, so I've been following her from Upper Arlington to BG.

I know life goes on, but the fact that Macy gets up every day is a miracle in itself. But, yeah, what a great game and this can only make the team stronger. This team is going to be fun to watch in the next two years.
