Falcons headed to Texas for South Padre Island Classic

The women's team is headed to South Padre Island next week for a two-day invitational early next week. They'll be playing Texas A&M-Commerce and UTRGV. Boise State will also be there but it doesn't look like they'll be playing? TA&MC is not a great team and should be a victory. UTRGV has a pretty solid squad and has had a really tough schedule to begin the year, so that will be a nice test. It'd be great to pick up a couple of victories and head into the non-conference finale against Findlay at 10-1. Go Falcons!

Looks like BG plays Monday at 4:00pm and Tuesday at 7:00pm, with both games on ESPN+.

Quick look at stats over TAMU-Commerce: No one played over 23 minutes, they scored 33 (!) fast break points, and Lexi Fleming had 15 points in 16 minutes off the bench. This team can shoot the hell out of the ball and they are DEEP. The MAC is really, really good this year, potentially a 2-bid league if they don't beat each other up too badly, but I think BG has a chance to make a deep run in the conference tourney. Really fun squad.
