Suzy Merchant coached at EMU as well. Coach Fralick is from Michigan and her family is there. I really hope the Spartans don't come calling....

I hope Fralick sticks around. I want her to finish the job here before she moves on - win the MAC and get back to the NCAA tournament.

This is the Big Ten job to be very worried she leaves for.

Reported on Toledo’s board that Cullop has interviewed for the Pitt job. I would think she would also be a candidate for the MSU job, as she played in The Big “Whatever”. I read on Google that Suzy Merchant was making $880,000! Couldn’t turn that down.

Suzy Merchant is/was a heck of a basketball coach. When she was at EMU, they were the hill Curt Miller's team had to climb to win the conference.

MSU's been a bit flat the last couple of years...seems like they're ready for a shake up

Fralick is their top candidate.
I’m disappointed because she’s an awesome person and she deserves to be here when we return to the NCAA tournament. We have an awesome foundation of players returning next year. But I can’t be mad about this - it has to be her dream job. And I will root for her wherever she goes, because she put this program back on the map.

Selfishly, I worry that her leaving will set us back pretty significantly. I think a lot of players would depart. I do think Kim Cameron would be an obvious choice to replace her. She was head coach at Michigan Tech for 8 seasons before joining Fralick's staff and went to four NCAAs and has something like a .780 win percentage. Might be a good way to keep the roster intact, too.

The two names currently on my mind for this job, should it come open, would be Kim Cameron or Ashland’s HC Kari Pickens, who is 141-15 at Ashland since Fralick left and has them playing for a national title again this Saturday.

Kari Pickens was also on my mind. She has a few familiar faces on her squad this year. Macy Spielman, Molly Dever, and Zoe Miller all transferred there from BG. I understood the first two, but hated to see Miller go. She was a good player here and an impact player at Ashland.

Pickens would be my first choice. She took over for Robyn and, as you said, continued to win BiG.

I'm assuming that the job at MSU is Fralick's if she wants it at this point. There has been a lot of silence from her since last night on Twitter, where she is normally extremely active, and with DVDM saying he was going to do what he can to keep her, I'm thinking he asked for some time to get a counteroffer together before she said yes to East Lansing.

I would also throw in Kate Achter as a possibility. May be a buy out involved at Uof DM but she really has done a lot over time with really bad initial rosters including this year where I thought they would be lucky to win 3 games. It would be interesting to see what she could do with a loaded roster from the start
