Screaming Children Special up in Buffalo this morning. BG is up 22-21 after the first in a pretty frantically paced game. Kohler with 10 points already, Sharps continuing her cold streak starting 1/5 from 3pt. Buffalo is a good team so this is a good chance to bounce back.

Not the greatest coaching effort today IMO. Basically made no attempt whatsoever to change the D on Buffalo's lone real scorer, playing her pretty much 1:1 the whole day, allowing her shot after shot. Watson went for a career high 36. BG only got close when she was out for extended minutes due to foul trouble.
And not sure who is working with Porter on foul shooting, but her setup is maybe the oddest thing I've ever seen. It's certainly not producing results. 4-10 today. Team shot 8-18 from the line (44.4%).
BG won't win any games with Sharps in foul trouble and going 1-8 from 3.

I'm guessing it's injury related, but our bench is thin right now and it's showing pretty clearly. I'm guessing the biggest jump we see between year 1 and 2 of Chmiel is depth.

I hope there is a change but the roster as it is now is made up almost entirely of players that will be coming back. Other than Porter all the rest have eligibility. I believe Coach Fred was dealt a difficult hand with basically four starters gone, two top recruits decommitting, and then multiple injuries compounding the matter particularly with an overly aggressive nonconference schedule , His own recruiting is difficult to analyze and may continue to be until 2025. Porter is an up and down player with poor FT percentage. He lucked out on being able to add Kohler after her decommit from today's opponent. Next year's recruit class right now is made up of two Fralick recruits and a JUCO center. If the rest of the current roster remains we are looking at more of the same.

Just a clarification on my post. It should have read that Sharps is the only player out of eligibility not Porter.
