2025 Commitments
First commitment yesterday. 6'1" SF Denza Allen out of Sunbury Big Walnut. HM Division 1 as a Jr. averaged 13.4 ppg for a 22-3 team. I am hoping that they are able to add the Bender twins out of Anthony Wayne. Both have similar size to Allen but were more highly rated in this years All State. Elise was 1st team and her sister High HM.

Second 2025 Commitments is Ky'Aira Miller 5'6" PG out of Cinci Purcell-Marian winners of the last 3 Division II Ohio Championships. Looks like she has a twin sister (Cy'Aira) at the same school.

Per X...the team has signed Sofia Moschen...a 6-2 F from Brazil. Lots to lik in these hi-lights..agile, moves well w/o the ball, nice jumper facing up from the foul line in...even has a bit of a handle.

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Yep, I watched her highlights which looked like she played more of a guard. We haven't had an athletic post player in awhile so I think the guard skillset can help create advantages down low for her. I am excited to see her take the court.Flipper wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 6:53 pmhttps://bgsufalcons.com/news/2025/1/12/ ... 25-falconsbghkyfan74 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 4:55 pmShe’s not eligible to play this year + she plays as more of a guard than in the post. Listed at 5'11 in 2022-23 so maybe a growth spurt to add to a guard type game.

I was unaware of the rules surrounding early enrollment. Akron had an early enrollee this January and she played in her first game with the team. I guess it all depends on academic progress to determine if someone is eligible to play.bghkyfan74 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 4:55 pmShe’s not eligible to play this year + she plays as more of a guard than in the post. Not sure if Sofia will play this year as they could just redshirt her. She is practicing with the team and someone who attended practice said she is playing on the perimeter as a wing/stretch 4.
Re: 2025 Commitments
The hockey team had a (international) player join at the break, and he started playing in games December 29th. Couple years ago they had a player enroll in school a week after January classes started, and he was eligible to play right away.bghkyfan74 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 10:00 am

Yep. I think I have just always seen those type of players in basketball redshirting for the last half of the season. Learn something new every day!
