Akron comes to town on the string of 4 straight losses, still tied for 8th in the conference with us. With no return trip to Akron, this game will mean a lot in terms of potential tiebreakers down the stretch.

An interesting note of this game is that Akron had a player enter the transfer portal in the middle of this season. 5'3 guard Kaia Woods, who averaged 6.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists last season for the Zips. Why is it interesting? She is reportedly on campus for a visit with the BG program today and tomorrow for the game.

BG gets the 82-69 victory.

Great effort from Kohler with 28 points and Fleming with 18.

Not too often that you see a two sport athlete with Kinnaird for Akron.

I hope Kohler stays here for the duration...but there are many times that it looks like she really wants to push the ball and run and our offense isn't really set up that way.

She’ll stay. She’ll be the #1 option next year. If you remember earlier in their careers, Fleming and Velasco loved to push the ball in transition. Then it went away. Kohler, Fleming, and Velasco met with Chmiel earlier in the season to ask if they could play in transition more.
