If you would have told me that we went 1 for a whole bunch from 3 and beat marshall by 11 -- I would have slapped you and called you a liar. We dominated on the boards and looked like we simply wanted it more than them. The crowd was good for a women's game and the animals and us were chanting on almost every possession which I've never seen at a women's game before. Hopefully we can get the same kind of atmosphere on Saturday against the Toledo Hoogewhatzits. By the by, I have never seen a women's team and coach display less class than I saw tonight from the marshall thundering thugs. They are a disgrace to our conference in terms of class and academics and I can't wait until they are gone forever. I hate marshall almost as much as I hate Toledo.....almost. Win two very winnable games and go to the gund as the number 1 seed. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Yeah, BG shot horrendous from 3 tonight....1/17. I think it says alot about this team though, that they can shoot under 40% and still play D enough to beat good teams. Some days you will just have bad shooting nights, so it was encouraging. Mann was 1 of 1 from 3 maybe she should have shot more of them.. What a great win....we managed to send Marshall packing with a loss in all 3 major sports....I love it. I also predicted BG to win 70-65 in the other thread....hey 73-62 not bad. 8)

Tremendous effort tonight. Not good shooting, but great rebounding and effort. Best wishes to Herd on their road trips to UTEP, Tulane, UCF and Rice next season.
We need fans Saturday at 1 PM versus Toledo. I am sending out the Bat Signal, the Falcon Screech and every Anderson Animal to bring fans out. People who normally wouldn't come out to watch the women, make this your game for the year and salute these seniors. They don't deserve it; they have EARNED it.
This is a championship caliber team with a lot of youth (Achter= unbelieveable athlete= winner= MAC Freshman of the Year). I hear good things about our incoming recruits. And our fan base is certainly getting louder.
Get to Anderson Arena twice this weekend please. Beat the Rockets!
Go Falcons!
Great Win For The Falcon Women

Michelle and I made it up tonight and were treated to a great win by the Falcons! As some of you have already said, we didn't exactly shoot the ball that well, and yet we still win by 11! Marshall's meltdown at the end was classic. Kate Achter gets fouled, then Shepherd-Hall body slams her and gets T'd up for it. Then their coach got mouthy and got T'd. Kate gets six free throws (four for the technical fouls and two for the original foul) and hits five of them to basically put the game out of reach for the Thundering Herd (don't let the door hit you on the way out of the MAC)! I can't wait to get to AA Saturday. Something tells me Hoogendam won't be able to climb over our backs all day and not get called for it like she did at Toledo! Let's pound the Rockettes! Hopefully we can have a nice, loud crowd and send our seniors out with a bang! I'm stoked! Take care everyone ... hope to see you at The House That Roars Saturday!
Mike -- Enjoy your birthday with Mrs. Freak! We will yell extra loud for you!

I liked the way the Lady Falcons stepped up after Marshall caught up and then went ahead. Everybody kept playing hard, we regained the lead and took it home from there. That says a lot about this team.

Still got 2 tough games remaining. The one I am worried about is next week at Northern. Our programs just do not do well in Corn Country.
Our football teams lost their, our mens bball team lost, women lost their 2 years ago. Lets keep the ball rolling though and roll in the tourny on a 3 game win streak, then win 3 at the GUND and bring home a NCAA birth.

Here are some of Coach Miller's comments in his post game press conference.
"In four years, I'm not sure if I've ever challenged our team as much as I did tonight. I was very hard on our team tonight. You just never know if you will ever be in a postition to play for a championship ever again. There are no gurantees, and I was very demanding tonight. I challenged individual players more than I normally do, and to their credit, they didn't cower or fold. Our team really hung together as a family, played hard and did what they needed to do."
That is the thing I love about this team, they refuse to give up. They keep plugging away and fighting until the end.
Size Matters?

I am glad that I have not seen a post by falconboy about the size of Mt. Medoupe. I think he understands that you don't need a girl who is 6'5 to win games.
Marshall, the leading rebounder in the MAC was dominated on the glass. Not only were they outrebounded, we killed them in the paint with scoring. Unless, of course, you count the garbage shots by the Blundering Turds guards as they drive the lane toward the end.
More big news... because of Shepard-Hall's double T, she cannot play against EMU; however, I am still torn on whom I would like to see win that game.
...insert stock falcon chant here...
