Quarterfinal Game

I am not sure about you, but I do not like this opening game matchup? Do you?
Either team will be fired up because of how we took both these teams out of the tourny last year.
The Falcons, in addition to picking up a MAC regular-season championship, earn the number-one seed for the Kraft MAC Tournament. BGSU will have a first-round bye, and will play a quarterfinal game on Wednesday, March 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Cleveland's Gund Arena. BGSU will meet the winner of the first-round game between #9 Western Michigan and #8 Miami.

A first round bye is one less game we have to worry about losing so I'm fine with that! We will be ready for either team no matter how fired up they are!!!

I rarely, if ever, post on this forum, but does this damn paranoia really run THIS deep, even!??!?!
Cheese n' rice, people!!! We just won the freaking MAC Championship, now we're worried, less than 2 hours later, that we're going to lose a tournament game a week from now!?!? The big four sports have done remarkable things this year, yet all we get is negativity and doubt about the next game. We don't even know which team we'll play yet! Or how they'll look, even! We just won a MAC Title for the first time in 11 years, and one of few titles in ANY of the big sports in the last 10 or so years, lets enjoy it and knock the negativity out of it for awhile!!!!

Also it's on a neutral floor and we usually have a pretty good following for these games.

I didn't say we would lose but there are teams we dont want to play right away, and well Western and Miami were the two teams I did not want to face. OU, Akron, Central, etc, anyone but Western or Miami.

I honestly don't care who we play. I think our team will be up to it. I'm not scared of anyone! What some people are forgetting is the motivation we will have of losing the title game last year against Eastern Michigan. I remember it just like it was yesterday, and Coach Miller made our kids stand there for a minute and watch EMU celebrate. I'll take that motivation over the 'spoiler mentality' of Miami or Western Michigan.

Just going to state the obvious that TG1996 was sort of indirectly getting at. We are the MAC regular season champions. Every team is going to be fired up to play us in the MAC tourney. It doesn't matter who we play, we are going to be the favorite and consequently teams are going to be motivated to knock us off of our number one seed pedastal.
that's how the tourney crumbles

Once the tournament rolls around it doesn't matter how many games you have won or lost, or who is the regular season champ. Its single elimination. One bad game sends you home.
I'd have to say I would normally agree with bgsufan1972; however, we have played Miami once and Western twice this season. They've had their chance for revenge, but they couldn't pull it off. As of now, we have to momentum to keep this streak rolling. Honestly, I wouldn't care if we played Eastern in the quarterfinal. The Gund is a neutral court and we have the fan support that we didn't necessarily have at last year's tournament.
As fans; we have to show up, be supportive, and cheer our tailfeathers off and make sure we bring home the championship. That's all we can do, we don't need to sit on AZZ and speculate. We will roll once again.

I need BG to make it to the Finals. I won't be able to attend the quarter or semi finals like last year!
I don't care who we play....UT, EMU and Kent concern me more than WMU or Miami.
I'll have the Freaklings there on the 12th when BG is playing in the title games....ssss...plural!
GO FALCONS!! MAC CHAMPS!

Ed,
While I read your post, I just thought about something; are you and Michelle gonna be able to make a 1pm game during the week? If so, maybe we can do dinner as we did last year... let me know...

Dennis -- Unfortunately we probably won't be able to get out of work and make the daytime games on the weekdays. We will definitely be there on 3/12 though!

My feeling is that we will play Miami. Western is just not a good team, in my opinion.
What is interesting about the brackets is that now the Eastern Michigan lost to Toledo, they dropped to the 4 seed instead of the 3 seed. So the ladies will have to get over the EMU hump and the KSU hump in back to back days. I would rather have seen Marshall get the 4 seed, and I'm sure CMill would have too. But, if you wanna be the best, you gotta beat em all!!!
