Falcon Recruits Have Teams On The Brink of Final Four

Post by falconfan1 »

Jessica McKenzie of Zanesville West Muskingham HS has her squad in the regional final vs. Ironton Saturday afternoon. West Musk knocked off previously undefeated Oak Hill by 18 to get to the game.

It should be quite a game as Ironton is 23-1 and quite physical. West Musk is 22-3 on the year. McKenzie is a left handed 6 footer who can score around the basket and mix it up inside too. McKenzie is a likely D III all state pick.

Looks like BG might have "stolen" one here. Could be quite an addition eventually.

Lindsey Goldsberry of perennial powerhouse Dayton Chaminade-Julienne is in the regional final after her Eagles blasted Fairmont 65-42. They face Cin. St. Ursula Friday night to get to Columbus. Goldsberry lit up Fairmont with a 4 for 4 night on threes and 16 total pointa. She is a 5'9" guard and one of THREE DI signees on her HS team.

I think both Michigan kids (Jazz Hall and DePrice Taylor) had good seasons up north with Hall known as a fast, open court guard.

I don't know much about Morgan Groover our 6 foot Indiana November signee. But her name is pretty groovy.

Go Falcons!

Being from the same part of Ohio as McKenzie I am not surprised at all. The girls teams do not have a lot of height, though there are exceptions, but there is a strong sence of fundamentals. I cannot wait to see her and Gompers get going next year.
