Unfortunatly, the MAC Champs don't place anyone on the first team, but that is what happens when you have a team that is so deep. Anyway, Liz and Ali each make the 2nd team, Carin is honorable mention, and predcitably, Kate makes the all-freshman team. To have 4 starters make ALL-MAC in some way is a great accomplishment. NOW LET'S WIN THE MAC TOURNEY !!!!

Good point. This is what happened to this year's wide-receiver corps for BG.

Yeah, you're exactly right about that. I can deal with no players on this first team much beter than recievers with football though, that was just a joke. Our entrie recieving corps should have been on the MAC first team. Oh well....at least the Women's team won a MAC Title.

Personally i think it is a crime that Liz didn't make first team. She is one of the best female hoopsters in the MAC. She gets the ball in her hands and no one, I mean no one, is going to take it away from her. Not to mention she leads the MAC in blocked shots and is 2nd in the MAC in Defensive Rebounds. I think that Liz really deserved to be named to the first team, but I guess I am just being bias.

By extension, a #1 seeded regular season championship team not having any first-team All-League players means that Coach Miller should be the overwhelming favorite for MAC Coach of the Year given the relative lack of talent (according to the coaches) he had to work with.

If this honor is not given, the voting process officially becomes a joke. They don't seem to realize that a player's scoring average, especially on bad teams, isn't the way to decide All-Conference selections.

Excellent point, Joe. This team is 20-7, 13-3 MAC. Ali Mann was the MAC Frosh of the Year last yr. Liz Honegger and Ali are near the top of many statistical categories...and neither is 1st team?? Coach Miller IS the COTY....nuff said.

But hey...I highly doubt these players care much for that in light of the MAC CHAMPIONSHIP!!! #1 SEED! And this is being done with mainly Sophomores and Freshman. The MAC might as well get used to seeing BG at top.

Unlike last year, there is no way I can take off work to get down there Wed. to the Gund. I'm using almost 8 vacation days for our family trip to Tampa and the funds, well....ya know. When the Falcons make the title game, I'll take the Freaklings down to the Gund for the game...hopefully a DH with the men!

GO FALCONS!!

I agree...as they say, "the ring is the thing!" Almost no individual accodales replace the satisfaction of earning a championship.

I was also surprised that Kate Achter didn't get FOY

That must have been another case where only the numbers were looked at. It's easier for a freshman to pile up stats on a team the caliber of Buffalo than a team like ours. Kate Achter would have gotten my vote for Freshman of the Year. I did see where Curt Miller got Coach of the Year. It was on the MAC Website. Freak, I'm like you, I'll have to be content setting at my desk at work with Gametracker. Come Saturday, though, Michelle and I will be there!
