Congratulations to Coach Miller, the players, assistant coaches, and Bowling Green women's basketball fans for getting BG to the Dance. I was getting nervous watching Gametracker at work late in the second half when Kent cut the lead to 4, but we held on strong. I snuck into the lounge for the last 3 minutes and Carin Horne make big play after big play down the stretch. To win while giving up 44 to the opponent's star is incredible. Great team effort and now let's get a win or two or six in the tournament!

By the way, I think next year's women's team against the men's team would be a great matchup with the women winning that game.

oooohhh......

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!

Michelle and I made that trek to the Gund and rocked with the Freak and his version of 'minime' (Josh)! Kent made their run late in the second half but it wasn't enough and the better team won! Shearer for Kent was unbelievable but we shut down the rest of their team! I think DeGraete had 14, but if I remember correctly, most of those were in the first half. I don't recall her doing much in the second half! I'll take our balance over their one-person team anyday! Kate Achter was fabulous and when Kent made a play late in the game, we answered like true champions! Kelly Kapferer did a nice job spelling Ali Mann, who was victimized by some cheap foul calls. I actually thought we were playing a little 8-on-5 out there but we were good enough to overcome that. We had the bald guy that screwed us against Toledo and I knew we wouldn't get any calls from him. Shearer scored 44, but she had the Jordan rules where she could charge and lean into our players and we got called for the fouls. I don't want to take anything away from her, but she was the recipient of some generous blocking calls when she was initiating the contact by leaning into our stationary players. Great victory by our ladies today ... WE'RE GOIN' DANCING BABY!

Man, what a GREAT day to be a Falcon! GREAT game from the team today. Players stepped up when the going got tough and sealed the deal.
Kate Achter???? Is she human? 3 MORE YEARS!

Shearer did get the benefit of many "non calls", as 99 pointed out. Simply put, BG refused to lose.

DANCIN' SHOES!!! Good to see the AZZ's at the game and a nice crowd (over 4,000) as well.

MAC CHAMPS!!! CURT MILLER COTY!!!

Best of luck to BG in the NCAA's...this team has EARNED the rewards.

BG now 23-7.

WAY TO GO FALCONS!!!!

What a fun time! I was up there with my mom and sister for the game -- it was fantastic to be there to see this team get what it deserved.

Nice to see Lindsay Austin, Stefanie Wenzel, and Kim Griech in attendance.

There were a lot of geezers wearing yellow as predicted, one tried to pick a fight with me. Lucky for me she had to lug her oxygen tank around, and I was able to escape. KSU fans sure know their basketball, but that's because they were all around when Jim Nasmith tossed a soccer ball into a peach basket.

We were definitely the better crowd (i.e. more vocal) this afternoon. Kent really didn't have anything to get excited about until 2 minutes to go...and when they did they were much louder than our corner of orange and brown -- and they were in stereo.

For all the non-calls that Shearer got, she still found some incredible ways to get the ball through the hoop.

I really wanted one of those MAC Champions shirts, but $25 dollars a pop? Um, no thanks. I'll wait and pay a cheaper $22.95 when the bookstore gets them.

All in all, it was a great time and a great game. I love the MAC tournament at the Gund -- we'll see you all there next year!

As Joyce and I were getting ready to go over to say hi to Mike, Ed and Michelle, I passed Stephanie and Lindsay.... I just said, "remember, you're a big reason for them being here today"..
Mr. Austin smiled and said, "thanks".
For those of us who saw last year's games, I think these two young ladies deserved that little bit of recognition. :o
