After hanging on to beat NIU 4-3 in the final game of the 3-game series, BG beat Valpo today 5-1. I'm glad to see them turning things around after a rough start. We are now 13-18 on the year but I'm sure we will break .500 before MAC play is done with. Also, I think our freshmen are doing a great job helping the team so far. That only means good things for the future!

I'm sure that will definitely benefit them though (not saying you didn't mean it wouldn't). But last year in the NCAA tourney I watched the team fall to Ill-Chicago and then Oregon St. These are some bigger schools that more people are familiar with and in turn they have bigger softball programs IMO. However, if you look back at last year, we didn't play as many 'big' teams in the preason like we did this year. I'm sure they learned from their mistakes with certain teams and I can only imagine it will help them if/when we get another NCAA berth this season.Falconfreak90 wrote:BG played a very difficult pre MAC schedule and started 1-10.

No doubt...playing teams like Virginia, Arizona, Michigan...ect will only help us in the long run. Valpo is now 1-23.McMetz811 wrote:I'm sure that will definitely benefit them though (not saying you didn't mean it wouldn't). I think we're gonna stick around for the softball game against EMU after the spring football game.
