D.A.R.E. Graduation Speakers

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

My daughter had her D.A.R.E. graduation today at Conneaut Elementary and the guest speakers were Curt Miller and Ali Mann!! Curt and Ali did a great job talking about making good choices and why it is so important. Curt talked about the Women's record and their incredible accomplishments this year, as well as recruiting the right kind of player who makes good choices both on and off the court. He also mentioned that Ali should be one of THE best players to EVER play for the Falcons!!! (that's pretty high praise!!) Ali said she was a D.A.R.E. graduate and talked to the kids about why making good choices is so important. Very neat to see them speak!!! They did a great job!!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

can you disagree with Curt?? She IS a great player-especially after this past season, I think she's gonna get some better recognition on the national circuit.

Seriously, we have amazing athletes on and off the court! All of them that I've ever talked to are just great people overall and it makes me proud to be a student here with them. Growing up watching BG athletics, I looked up to the athletes and they became role models. When I got here, I still sort of thought of them like that. After getting to know some of them though, I realized they are just average kids like myself and nice as heck. I'm really impressed by all of them now-a-days!

That says a lot for the kind of character the coaches are recruiting. I have heard it said many times that it's easy to find a talented athlete, it's much harder to find the "RIGHT" kind of person for BG. Hats off to the coaches who do the extra work to get the quality kids with talent!!!
