BIG TIMER Commits for Women's Basketball!

Post by falconfan1 »

Internet experts, please search to confirm a very credible verbal report that Bedford (MI) HS star Tara Breske has commited to Bowling Green. She is a 5'11" do everything player who also excels at volleyball. But she is bball in college all the way.

She has had some knee injuries, but is now rounding back into shape for the finish of fall HS bball in Michigan. I understand that, prior to her injury, she was rated a top 60 or better player nationally. In addition to many Big Ten schools, some serious powers like UConn, Duke, K State etc were looking at her/recruiting her very hard.

With our strength program, Sebo Center, etc, Tara will probably be quickly at full strength and stay there. This young lady could be a serious difference maker.

I also spotted incoming Indy recruit Laura Bugher at the last football game. Good size on this future Falcon. Hopefully, all goes as planned and we sign a full group with grants available in a couple weeks.

Very interesting. That would be awesome if this girl is that good. A girl being recruited legitimately by the likes of UConn , Duke , and K State I wouldn't think would be looking at us but maybe the inuries made them back off. If she stays healthy , this looks like a great get for us.

This is from the Monroe news online.

Maybe I was a bit wrong on her having declining interest cuz of injury. She seems to have been recruited hard.

Does it matter? 5'11 is too short.

So, back to the serious part of this thread, if we continue to bring in recruits like this, how long is it before we make it to the Elite 8 or beyond? 8)

I'll be happy if we can repeat as MAC champs and make it to the dance. Everything beyond that is just gravy....on my.....ice cream...or something like that.

I wouldn't put that culinary combo behind your...creative...mind.

I fully expect this team to repeat as MAC Champs this year and advance much deeper into the tourney than they did last year. What happened last March was just the tip of the iceberg in my estimation. 8)

I agree with BO...with the talent and committment these young women have invested, this program is going to be excellent. 12 of the 14 players stayed in BG this summer to train. Coach Miller has excellent work ethics and his assistants work extremely hard. But look at these results...it will be tough to repeat cuz Kent State loses one Sr from last year so they will be just as good. But this team has shown tremendous attitude and effort.

They got a taste of the big time last year....but that's just a taste. Time for the whole entree!

I can't bring the link up, but the Monroe News reported on 10/14 Breske plans to sign with BG.

Joe and others, thanks for following up my "verbal" on Breske. Once this kid fully strengthens that leg, she could be quite a help. Can shoot it; very athletic. One of Michigan's best volleyball players when healthy.

Yes, as we keep signing good players, we can keep building on success. On another matter, I am hearing that frosh Jazz Hall is a real player based on practice etc. Perhaps a couple freshmen will help us.

Also very classy move having Jill Lause as a team captain. She may not play too much, but Jill is a true vocal leader for the team. And the only four year senior player.

Go Falcons!

Great news. Coach Miller and the staff keep bringing in quality basketball players and people into the program and, judging by the article, the success has been noticed by recruits.

Excellent news about Jazz. Between her, Deprice Taylor, Linda Goldsberry, Whitney Taylor and Julie Gompers, the guard position should have the type of quality depth that hasn't been seen in years.
