Hoops win 78-50

Post by NY-BG-FAN »

After it was 35-27 at the half, BG clamped down and held IPFW to just 23 points in the second half. Honegger, Mann, and Flynn all scored in double figures and Achter had 10 assists. GO BG! 1-0!

BG whips the "Dons"....

I was pretty impressed by Amber Flynns obvious improvemnent in her game. She apparently lost 20lbs and is alot quicker and was able to take several IPFW fowards off the dribble to the rack and score. Kate quietly scored 7 points and would've probably scored more if she played more minutes but didn't have too cuz of our guard depth. But she gets 10 assists and showed why she is a point guard.

Thorburn had nice touch from 3 pt land by shooting 2-2. I was also impressed with Flynn's free throw shooting, a nice addition to our inside game with players that can get fouled and make 'em pay. I didn't see freshman Deprice Taylor at all but did see Jessica Mckenzie out on the sideline with I heard a knee injury after colliding with Deprice in practice. I didn't sound serious from the BG's assist coach on the post-game interview.

Hope we get a really good crowd tommorow for St. Francis(PA) at 7pm. These guys are good and have owned this Northeast Conference for years while also getting to the NCAA's every year as well. We need a good crowd for this guys. The rest of you Anderson Animals get on that. :-\
