Another night, another win, keep it up Falcons!

Sounded like a totally different crowd from the first half to the second. I loved the way the energy and noise went up hugely!

In the first half, OU just kept making their shots. The shot that made the difference in the first half for OU was the big girl shooting that 3. That's what got us down. But in the 2nd half, the ladies came out on top. Being among the "Animals" was fun tonight. I'm ready for another win on Saturday...

i agree... it was loud for a smaller crowd. i even think it was louder more then the toledo game! but good win tonight ladies! can't wait for saturday!

Yikes -- How much better are we than Ohio? They dominated us in FG percentage (52-40) and especially in 3 pt % (62-33) and we still won by 14! We are worlds ahead of that team. Gutty win and another great defensive effort. My original prediction of 2 MAC losses might have been too pessimistic

That's what I thought listening to the game...we didn't play very well for a majority of the game and yet won by 14? Sounded like we played our "C" game and coming off a huge win at Kent...Coach Miller was rightly concerned about a letdown.

BUT, BG stepped up and won the game and that's all that matters. The Falcons have 12 MAC games left...and right now, I think the only teams in the same arena with BG are Kent and EMU and we get both of them on the AA floor.

You're spot on about EMU and Kent. If we play our "B" game, no other team in the league beats us but those 2. At the risk of seriously getting ahead of myself, I started thinking about an undefeated MAC season on the way home from Kent. That was by far our toughest MAC game of the year looking at the schedule a month ago.


The big question is, let's say we go undefeated or have one loss in Conference, but lose in the MACC game. Do we get an at-large bid to the tournament?

I would hope so....after scaring the crap outta Kansas State last year in the NCAA's...but we all know too well how the MAC usually gets treated when it comes to March Madness.

Unfortunately, I don't think that we will be able to squeak an at-large bid out of the NCAA. The tournament has been dominated by the major conferences as far as the at-large births go. I started looking at the major conferences, and there are way too many teams with 0 to 5 losses right now that would get the nod before us I feel. I hate to say that, because we have a tournament worthy team, but the committee is going to look and see how many teams from other top womens conferences are out there, and put them in. Mid-major teams don't get the look yet in the womens game as they do in the mens game when it comes to tournament time. That is why you will see many more mid-majors in the wnit than in the tournament. But there is still a lot of basketball to be played by these conferences, and ours, that anything can happen. Here's to BG Womens basketball, and the ride they are taking us on.

Thanks for the perspective -- I haven't really ever followed WCB all that closely on a national scale....just the Falcons. I would hope that an undefeated conference season combined with our impressive OOC performance would turn some heads on the committee. Hopefully that won't need to be the case.

great comments. it's a shame that smaller schools aren't looked at with the big gals.
maybe we need to be the gonzaga or indiana state or kent state of women's hoops and open some eyes.

Take a look at a lot of those 0-5 loss teams and their upcoming games though. We have a lot easier of a schedule from hear out than those teams. Yes, that will factor into the at large bids as well, but if we keep playing and winning and lose the MAC Tourney, I could easily see 2 MAC teams going. If that is the case though, the 2nd team going in would be a very low seed IMO.
