Smells more like bull-sh!t
The presence of smiley's in Strouse's post was an indication of sarcasm. Even I caught it and I"m a clueless old guy from the [sneer]Kelly regime[/sneer] It would HAVE to be sarcasm. OSU grads suck, but one shouldn't say that on a public forum. :-D

i'm sure there's a reason why he was ignoring the low-brass ... don't complain ;-) and as far as the whole making short songs out of everything...yeah...that's getting real old and real irritating...we already have short songs in that thick folder already...so why not use those?!? oh wait...that would make too much sense :P besides...he's an os-who grad...what else would you expect??
Perhaps this is not the place to complain about a grad assistant....Lots of people see this forum, and it's quite easy to figure out which one you're referring to....
I agree with Lozer. Ive heard even Dr. Hayward reads this site eoccasionally. Jeff is a great guy no one is denyig that, some of us just htink that he is trying to make TOO much out of a miniscule amount of dead time. If he wants to have shorts use stuff from school songs so at least the crowd will understand what we are doing/attempting to do.

Be careful what you all say, especially those with obvious screen names

Jeff is also the first person in my five years that even gave more than a trifling passing fanciful thought about using the 1812 overture short.

He tried to get us to rehearse it last year. The low brass had absolutely no problem playing it while no one else could. Granted our part is ridiculously easy, we were still the only ones even trying. This was a huge disappointment to many as some of us have been dying to hear what that little snippet sounded like and we didn't even get a fair chance to hear it.

We could have something cool like that to fill in the "super short" time period. Instead everyone cried about it and now many realize they should have just done it so they they wouldn't have to play the last two beats or so of the Screamer. Lesson learned? No, most likely not, people these days don't pick up on that kind of thing.

Speaking of The Screamer, anyone else realize that we did not play the song through one single solitary time this year during football season? I could be wrong but I don't believe it has happened for the A-Band season yet either. Is BGSU really going to be subject to not having the privilege of listening to The Screamer one single time this year?
Yeah right girl!

I think you're right. We never got past rehearsal "A" in football season and the furthest we've gotten in A-Band season so far is the second bar of "B" and we had to cut off. Jeff then picked it up again at "C" and we went to the end, but we haven't played it all the way through yet... Quite unfortunate... Hopefully we will play it all the way through before the season is out
