It's the BG way. When you're ready to go (19:30 minutes on the pregame clock) you take 'em down with the mace. Once down, give 'em a RRRRIIIIIIGHTUPINTHEEERRRREE! Bring 'em up with clicks and booms. Count out the percs. Await the B!G!S!U! then you begin entry. Once you have three columns out, bow down and kick out the strut!

That still get the blood pumping after 13 years.

You can graduate the drum major from the band but you can't graduate the drum major from the man.

Just readin' that is gettin' me goin' for marching season next year already!! BTW, anyone have any idea who all is trying out for drum major or other leadership positions??

(while announcing)
(arms outstretched in front of you,)
clap clap clap
BAND! ten HUT!
(band randomly...)
Hut? hut! HUH?!(me) CRAP!
(cadence starts as drumline, shakos and guard take the field in the endzone, while the FCs march to the 20)
(band yells after every 8 counts)
ONE!(2,3,4,5,6,7,8 ), TWO!(2,3,4,5,6,7,8 ) THREE!(,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 )FOUR!(2,3,4,5,6,7,8 )(someone in the band, usually a sousy yells) FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT!(attempt to throw off the percussion, sometimes they start too soon too!)FIVE(2,3,4,5,6,7,8 )(does it again)(someone decides a "style for the back field" yells a rival bands style) OU STYLE!(rearback, and HIGH stepping....)
(band yells)

(Full battery cadence begins as the Miami University Marching Band takes the Field)
(Announcer...randomly spouting stuff...(FC's Phil.......Jaclyn......Amee....., etc.))
(Band is in vertical rows, cymbols begin)
Halt countdown, crashing every count....
Halt cadence, (band moves to fanfare diagonals... sets and turns on the diagonal..)
(band plays)
FANFARE.... (and down.)
Cadence
(while band turns to face the south endzone marching back to vertical lines...)
(Band yelling) WOOHOO!
(while yelling spinning around to face back field moving to the Block M)
Announcer says
NOW ON YOUR FEET AS THE MIAMI MARCHING BAND FORMS THE INCOMPARABLE BLOCK M, A MIAMI TRADITION FOR OVER 35 YEARS!(more like 40 or more, but who's argueing)
(band yells, while bringing instruments up, and hitting the set) I LOVE THIS PART!
(band plays while marching down field)
Love and honor to Miami,
Our college old and grand.
Proudly we shall ever hail thee,
Over all the land.
Alma mater now we praise thee,
Sing joyfully this lay.

(band halts midfield and turns to the East stands(student side)plays)

Round 1 of Leadership Auditions begin tonight!! I'm excited and pumped! Thursday can't get here any sooner though...that gives me time to finalize some of my cues.

A friggin' buttload of people. We could have had a good-sized band with fair instrumentation with just the people in the initial leadership audition meeting last night. I kid you not.
