Non-sequitor

Must point out that Mrs. 87 also attended Juliard and the Manhattan School of Music.

i missed this half time show due to work.

but... i just saw the video of it when you guys performed it at the high school. and might i say... damn. nicely done FMB! i LOVE 'get it on'. i played that in jazz band in high school. wish we would have done this show before i graduated!

see you all at homecoming :-D

(PS - i really need to dust off the trumpet. lol, hopefully i can somewhat bring back my chops before we play!)

just got posting ability. Kudos to the bands half time performance! The soloist was AWESOME!

It would have been nice to view him on our "big screen". Hello Video crew are you taking half time off!

I have one question. Does the band know any other songs to play during the game other than the 3 they always play (Ay Zigg, pep song, etc.)?

Has anyone told them they can play the ESPN short or a brief version of a hip hop song. Something... When the game is as disappointing as the Kent game you need the band to provide a little entertainment.

Does anyone recall WMU's bad a couple of years ago - incredible!

Yes, the band knows several songs..... they generally rotate Ay-Zig, the first and second halves of Go BG (it usually gets split due to time constraints), Fanfare, A-Team, Eat 'Em Up, Yeah, and several others. During longer breaks they can open their repertoire more fully and play longer songs that not everyone has memorized.

They are not always allowed to play TV station themes (though yes, they know those too) if the game is being broadcast/televised.

In the past, some fans have been irritated by the band playing energetically during games when the football team is being whumped.... I guess they're damned if they do, and damned if they don't, at times.

And yes, I remember WMU's band.... they were quite good, and very loud and enthusiastic. "Incredible" may be pushing it. :P

Oh yeah, and welcome to the band (geek) board. :)

this year it has seemed like we play the same songs over and over. and even the longs. we had to put all our music in the flip folder but never use any of it. i honestly would like to see us start playing a few others songs we have with us. but i don't make that call.

Kinda like last year as well, actually. Wish we could play different songs, but with the time restraints, we're limited on what we can do.
