And thanks to the musical genius (and mellophone experience) of Ryan Nowlin, the mellos get some pretty kick-ass parts. :supz:

Not that pages of upbeats aren't a blast to play (no pun intended- well, at least not until after I caught it)...

The only reason you "play it better" Is because you can hear the saxes better than the mellos because there 87 million gazillion of you! So, in all actuality, maybe the mellos DO play it better, but no one will ever know! Besides that...Brass rules anyhow. I like a little sax every now and then...but when it comes to the brass, you gotta give credit where credit is due.

(Not to bust in or anything)

I think everyone speeds up there fight songs, I know we do. We do the 'Incomparable Block M' and go REALLY slow, or REALLY fast. and in the stands, it is always play as fast as you can.... And As for step height... at least you don't do the waddle whatever you wanna callit that the Marching 112 of Ohio University does. Good lord, I visitted my 112 friends, and they "taught" me how to do it... they are glutton for punishment, you BG Warriors keep marching, I think you guys sound great. (Top 2 MAC bands... Miami and BG... OhioU 112 can bring up 3rd.) At least you aren't Toledo, at the MACC they screwed up their fight song on the field. We got a GOOD laugh outta it

So, I'm not meaning to slight you or anything because you are kind of backing me up, but I just have a problem with the whole "not hearing the mellos" bit. We got a lot more of "a little less mello" than "mellos, I can't hear you" last season. Now, I know that someone is going to take that and run with it, making comments like, "yeah, they told you to back down because they didn't want to hear you because you suck so much, blah blah blah..." I'm not saying that the mellos are so perfect and superior to everyone else in the band; I just wanted to point out that nobody can accuse us of not having a powerful sound.
