Don't forget Murph's Nobel Prize winning study "Dude, what if there was no gravity?" Yeah, that trip rocked. Just like K2:0K, and K3:02:W. Good times.

Dude Niz whatever you do dont get on the directors bad side you lose the following rights:

Right to express a greivance diplomatically via email
Right to participate in band activities
Right to enter the field house on any given saturday
Right to make a sign that is clearly addressed to Carol on the swim team (who really exists)

Thats about it....and just for the record...most of the traditions in this forum have been systematically removed.....

Falcon4life, you must be the infamous Dick, or if you aren't that is who you're talking about. Sorry, no one ever got around to telling me your/his real name in the last couple years. I do a pretty alright job of staying on the directors good side. Traditions make the college atmosphere superior to every other sports atmosphere, so I'm hoping to be a huge help in bringing back those that have been removed, and if they can't be brought back then I want to know why they are gone or why they can't come back.

Niz: just so you know, the backbend is for the ENTIRE SSB, not just what the DMs do now right before downfield...

The style of the DMs has changed a lot since Ruit and I were a team... but what would be good is more moves with the mace!

Good luck! let us know about tryouts and all of that!

I'll be happy to keep you updated. In talking to a lot of people in and out of the fmb I have found that there is a huge desire to see that old style that the two of you had come back. I just wanna learn as much as I can about it since I have almost direct contact with a lot of alumni through here. When I saw the SSB thing this year my eyes lit up and I said to myself I've got to do that someday! and yes I'll be starting my search for a good chiro as soon as we see how tryouts go. I don't wanna build myself up too much though there's always that possibility that I'm not the right guy for the job. I really appreciate any and all input into the matter though so keep it coming!

I think that's a very admirable and reasonable approach! *applauds Niz* :D

Niz...you hit the nail right on the head...I am indeed the infamous Dick! Which Ironically has two meanings in this case! Anyway I am with my fellow maggot cohort that unless you want to be on the enemy list...GOOD LUCK! Five years ago when I started...under Dan Crain and Matt Denman, things were fun...but all of the socialness (yes it is a word now) got taken out. We also used to play football before practices....cause it was fun!!

I wish you all the luck in the world....cause I love the traditions that existed....but like childhood dog Smokey....everything must die someday...Unfortunately there is a mass-execution of traditions going on....

Can anyone tell me....are maggots still called maggots? Or did that get the axe too?

One other thing....not a good idea to prance around the Kontrolzentrum (CMA) looking for answers....we are talking more dictatorship less democracy....
Thats a good way to have a Director of Bands put a finger in your face on parents weekend and yell the words 'You dont want to push me on this do you' and then chase you accross a field house!!! That was cool....lots of people said they too enjoyed it!

Thats about all I have to say about that....

The football thing still existed at the beginning of last season, but the doc decided that wasn't going to happen anymore after Metz hurt his knee and couldn't march for most of the season. Which is a shame, cause I never got in on any of those games. As far as looking for answers around the cma, I knew it wouldn't be the place to find what I need because after all, most traditions involve students doing dumb things and teachers usually frown on that. The one thing I would approach the doc about is maybe bringing back "shout", "chord" and I believe there is one other one that people have been clammering for as stand tunes. Ok, thats all I got for now.

Yes we're still called maggots and we still do alot of the old traditions. Tho Hayward keeps a close eye on us alot of the time to make sure we stay in check

except for when people get hurt...like our section leader did last year. Maybe it was an accident...but it didn't need to occur in the first place. I'm all for fun and traditions...but not when someone stands to get hurt.
