Song question for pep band - copyright issues

Post by Falcon30 »

I am arranging some tunes for pep band (I am in the Cleveland State Basketball band - they pay me to play my horn!)

What would be a dream song you would love to play/hear at a basketball game?

I want to do the Anthem by Good Charlotte, or maybe some Brain Stew by Green Day...I always wanted to do Tie Your Mother Down by Queen.

What are your songs you always wished were available for band?

any of you music majors know how to request copyright permission? I can't remember.

I have always wanted to play 'Alright Now', 'The Price is Right' and 'The A-team theme songs' the last one is better when played four hundred times in a row.

Oh yeah...the sportcenter theme is original!

In all seriousness now....Jessie's Girl....the song rocks my world!

All your ideas are good - I love the tv themes. Great ideas.

oh and btw, a cool song to do would be "touch the sky" by kanye west. the background part is sweet (has trumpets and such) and comes from some other older song. so if you didn't want to do the hip-hop version, find out what the original is and do that instead. people would hear it and get into it.

Anything Aerosmith... esp. "Dude Looks Like A Lady," "Love in an Elevator," and "Walk This Way."

And this might sound like a weird suggestion, but "Ballroom Blitz" could be a lot of fun to play. Seriously.

And I'm referring to the original by Sweet, none of this remake business.
