What does anyone else think? I think this could be the start of an "all day party" athmosphere(sp?) needed to bring more people to the stadium earlier. I think doing that is a good first step. Once they are there we just need to make sure they go on into the stadium for the game. But I will wait until I see it in practical application before I give a thumbs up or down.
GO FALCONS!!!!!

Great idea. That should really bring people out early, and help the atmosphere.

I agree. Instead of having to get fans to stop tailgating (read: drinking) we can just play for them as is. Big improvement.

I think this is a good thing too. Some of us (especially former FMB members) wanted to see the field house show, but also be able to get some of the free premotional activities going on before the game. And this way we can tailgate. I think this could work really well for all parties involved!

I still think having the Field House show in Anderson Arena would be better. The thing that worries me about our new location is when weather gets colder. Furthermore, some of the sections in the FMB have very strong traditions tied in with the field house that may not be as prominent anymore

Other than that I think it isn't a bad idea at all, its definately a great way to promote the FMB!

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me; we'll see how it pans out. Exciting to think of lots more people seeing the "fieldhouse" show!
(Anyone but me think it's funny how they have Dr H "recalling" how the fieldhouse show used to be in a different location, as though she were there?)
ETA- It occurs to me that the March Over will either have to be much shorter or much earlier, then.

Sweet. I was always confused by the choice of venue for this event, as I feel that the only plus that the field house offers, is a roof. I came across many people were constantly amazed about its sole existance, seeing that it was an inclosed, and out of the way location. This should definately gain a few new fans for the band. Good move. Definate Upgrade.

We started at the north end of the ice arena... no 'horseshoe' at that time. Then, while the field house was being built and the hockey arena getting a face lift, we were at the baseball stadium. yes. outside. We kept some traditions, lost some, and made some new ones.
Now you young 'uns will have a head start on what to post about when you graduate...

You
could do that at a different point during the day, you know, if necessary...

To quote a friend of mine, "Tradition is a four-letter word." Trivial things change. In the end though, I bet the sun still comes up in the east, and sets in the west. If the gameday activity is important enough, you'll adapt it to your new surroundings.
