I have to say I really enjoyed listening to you guys, all the way from start to finish. I also really liked seeing some of the members moving through the crowd towards the end, keeping spirits up and fans involved.

I'm sorry to say this, but I did not like the small ensembles moving throughout the stadium and playing. It reminds me too much of OSU or Wisconsin's bands, and I do not think we need to copy them. While yes it does allow more people to hear the band and keep the crowd energized, it also says to me that the whole band is not good enough to play. Following the completion of the SEBO center, then I think this will be highly unnecessary as the sound show fill the whole entire Doyt. In addition, there were times when the band was playing at the same time as the ensemble and that sounded bad. I understand that this is just my opinion, so feel free to disagree.

Well, since you give me permission, I disagree. I think the point of the small pep bands is that it wouldn't be a problem for them to play during the game, rather than just on the breaks. (At least, I'm pretty sure they were doing that.) I think they also helped a lot to energize some dejected/exhausted third-quarter fans. The whole band is good for energizing too, of course, but it's a whole different kind of energy when the instruments are playing five feet away from you.

You're right that when both groups were playing, or when they were too close together, it was a little off. But this is the first time they've tried this, so naturally there will be some problems to work out. I don't think that will be a permanent issue.

On the whole, I liked it. Quite a few schools do things like that, not just OSU and UW.

We've been asking for this, and frankly, its about damn time.

I loved the small groups! The only things I did not like was not enough time spent on the east side, and a lack of coordination between the groups and the main group. Hopefully both of these will be fixed by the Kent game. Other than that keep it up!

I remember doing this several times during my tenure.

It was mostly ditties, but I seem to remember small ens. going out a few times.

It wasn't regular, however. I personally don't see a problem.

i think since there are two small groups one should go to the east side and one to the west side. just a thought. but like someone said i'm sure little things will be worked out for the next game.

to bad we didnt do this for the cleveland game since there was complaints they couldnt hear us in the stands. owell

Or Illinois, or Michigan, or Kansas, or Oklahoma, or probably any other school with a respectable stadium and fan base. I agree with Flicc that there's something to be said for when the band is right next to you playing, or even just one section over. I'm all about it, and seeing that you generally can't hear the FMB in a lot of the Doyt, all the help that the fans can get in hearing the group is good.
