MAC Announces Nov. 6 Football Game of the Week Selection
Western Michigan at Bowling Green Selected for 1:00 p.m. Telecast

Wonderful news for the band.... ready for a 7AM morning practice, everyone? :P At least our fingers might not lose ALL feeling by the time Beer Barrel rolls around.... at least for those of you who don't have the tips cut out of your gloves...

Let me tell you, the tips hardly make a difference! Those gloves are so thin anyways!

And, oh unfettered joy! an early game!!! That means I can actually hang out with the fam that day  That is almost unheard of on a game day!!

What's the show? It looks like I'm going to be there with wife, sans curtain climber.

This is awesome! Back before their were lights, the games were always this early. My first year, they were still using the rented lights they brought in on trucks but we still had a lot of 7am practices. It truly is a whole different experience getting there 3 hours earlier!

The bestest part of 7am practice game day?

Making sure birthdays were sung to those individuals who REALLY had a good time the night before and were usually still a touch tipsy.

Happy birthday to you *BOOM*CRASH*

My God, we were evil.

Each section had breakfast... I often wonder if there's still food in the removable tiles in the basement....

I either hung out with the Tubas or percussion... if memory serves me correctly!

I'm willing to bet there is still a half gallon of that wonderful store-bought red elixur up there (courtesy of the maggots).

I still remember them breaking the elevator every Saturday morning.

The show is, unfortunately, going to be a repeat, since we only have one week to prepare for it.... It's going to be two of the three Halloween songs over again. Harry Potter and Night on Bald Mountain/Sorcerer's Apprentice? It's only two of 'em cuz I think this is the game where we share the halftime field with the other band.

Hopefully the student section won't moon them this time... I think the Miami band was scarred for life last year!

That is correct! WMU will be bringing their band to BG. Most likely for moral support because their team is going to need it! Hopefully you will hear Foward Falcons many more times than their fight song :P

Certainly you must not be implying that the Maggots would ever engage in illicit acts, would you? Jeff

BTW, 4 am Maggot breakfasts were always great times...honestly. I loved going out to breakfast and not knowing where everyone was, or if they were even there due to the early morning fog. And God forbid you show up late to a breakfast. I made that mistake ONCE, and only ONCE. Thats all for now, Jeff

Awesome! WMU has a fine marching band a great tradition up there. At one time they played mostly classical stuff, but I believe they've "broadened their horizons".

This is going to be a good weekend to attend.

Just know this, the show won't be a repeat to me.

Good point... as always, we gotta remember that even when we repeat shows, they're new to a lot of people. Heck, even pregame is new to somebody in that stadium.

It's looking to be an awesome show so far! We've learned the music and put the first four sets on the field... with Nowlin music and Sivill drill, I can't wait to see how it progresses.

Still serving Rice Krispies and Old Milwaukee (Snap, Crackle, and BURP!) at breakfast?
