Wow. I'm stunned. I really don't know what to say except that it's like losing a close member of the family. She'll be missed more than I can express right now.
Thoughts and prayers to Chief and the rest of her family.

What sad news. Mrs. K was such a great lady. And she could make some mean chicken and noodles.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Very sad news indeed. Mrs. Kelly was an amazing lady. I remember the homecoming show in 1995. We ended it with "Lady" and dedicated it to Mrs. Kelly. The thoughts of playing for her with Mr. Kelly, who had been teaching us the show all week, on the ladder still gives me chills. The Falcon Marching Band has lost one of it's greatest supporters. I never see a form fitting hanger without having a thought of Mrs. Kelly. R.I.P.

Yeah, I was thinking it would be cool if we could play Lady this year as the combined band piece at homecoming and dedicate it to her again.

That would be the thing that pushed me over the fence about attending homecoming this year.

And have Chief conduct.

As a former BUFFO, I hope that I can speak for all of my "brothers" that we are all saddened by the loss of our "matriarch". I know that those of us who know who BUFFO is will not be surprised to know that we will be honoring Helen in our own way at the funeral.
I know that I recieved the news through my wife (an alumni of TBS), but also got the news from another BUFFO. I was stunned to my core.
Those who knew Mrs. Kelly know that she was an integral part of not only the BGSU FMB, but of the campus as a whole.
Rest in peace Helen Kelly...and know that you touched many lives in a positive and loving way.
I ask you...

I haven't lost a parent or a spouse yet, and god willing I won't for quite a while! But I think that the best way we can support Chief right now is to send him cards or letters or something to help cheer him up. I can only assume that after the funeral there's a bit of healing time and that is when the support is needed most.
I know how much he appreciated little stories about Mrs. Kelly from the on-line postings and letters/cards he received from former students, he told me so at her visitation...
Therefore, please think of him in the days and weeks to come and if you have any fun stories about Mrs. Kelly to please pass them along!
Thanks!
