Hey, I mean they're certainly no FMB, but these guys do pretty well with this Billy Joel material. Enjoy.

Did they have video and pull it down or is it suppose to be just music? Sounded awesome - which you would expect from the Cavaliers.
I'll have to check the schedule of DCI events. It's been a very long time since I've attended one (1993 in Toledo, I believe).

RUIT - I went to the Artistry in Motion show in Columbus 2 years ago. Saw the Cadets World Championship show...it was amazing even with the quasi beatboxing.
Nice place to see an event.

Yeah, I saw it. Bad weekend. It's bender - uh - Regatta weekend at the club. I'm on the bender - uh - Regatta committee. I can't excuse myself from the responsibilities.
Man, the Blue Devils. Woof. That would be hot.

If anyone is considering going, I highly suggest it, especially if you are a percussionist. Highlights for those that are drum oriented would be Bluecoats, Cavies, and I'm very interested in Southwind's drumline as they are surprisingly beating the Scouts in drums right now. The new drum guy there is Shane Gwaltney, who is the current director, arranger, and designer for Music City Mystique. Additionally, go to pearldrums.com and check out the video of Phantom Regiment's drumline. I do believe they will win the Fred Sanford Percussion trophy again if they continue to get better. I would also like to note that the tenor player on the left end (if you are standing in the line) is 16 years-old......and he's a vet...........I think we've found Tim Jackson's replacement. I hope to see some of you at the show, I'll be there with a bunch of rowdy fellows from Matrix. Stop by and say hi, and most importantly, enjoy some great music!

WHERE in Canton is this event? I've seen some of this on TV and have been fascinated by the overall competition. As a former bass drummer (only in HS- wish I'd tried out for the FMB), I really get into this stuff even now, just a "few" years later.

The show is usually in Massillon at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, and its date coincides with the HOF festival But, since the DCI finals are on the west coast this year, the show was moved up to early July, and it will be held at Fawcett Stadium.

Thanks, Thought it might be Fawcett when the Canton thing was mentioned, but wasn't sure...Will have to talk to my wife about this one..as she is planning for us to take a "short" vacation tied to the July 4 week.

I am not sure any shows will fit into my schedule with work and so on, but I am gonna try. My favorite place to see a show is either Hancock Stadium, Illinois State University or Crew Stadium, in Columbus. In my opinion that is where state marching finals should be held instead of this multi-site crap. Crew stadium is a great venue for sound, has a lot of parking, and the positioning of the lights at the corners and not the sides gives a great effect at night.

NICE! Great links. I love Phantom. I've always admired their class and music choices.
I looked into trying out for Alto back in *cough* '90, but had to work for tuition instead. Chalk it up as one of the many regrets I have accumulated in my life.

I usually go to the HOF show and get my DCI fill for the year, but this year, it conflicts with [/plug]a performance by
my own band[/plug], so I won't be able to make it.
