I must also give the FMB a round of applause!
The halftime show rocked and everyone in the crowd was really into it! Great saxophone soli and solo also!

Woot, I was a part of that soli!

Thanks! We love the compliments!
It was a great game to end the last regular home game that I marched at the Doyt. I got a little misty eyed there for a bit cause of that. I'm glad we beat the snot out of Marshall!
Time to move on to do the same to Toledo.
Oh, and speaking of that

Come to the Glass bowl on Tues and cheer on our band as we play halftime in there! (we are doing the same show I think!) And, well, I will hold my personally biased opinion to myself regarding which is the better band, but all in all, cheer louder for us than for them.

As a first year marcher in the FMB(2nd year at BG), I must say that this was an awesome experience. I knew as soon as we hit the first note that we were going to nail it...and in my eyes, we did! I felt the most enormous sense of pride when I heard the crowd singing along! So loud, in fact, that I was beginning to think they might drown us out! I almost had tears in my eyes! I have never been a part of something so amazing in my life, and the FMB has given me so many awesome memories! And I hope there are many more to come! So, to my fellow FMB-ers: YOU ROCK!
Again, thanks to the fans for being so supportive!!!

As was said before, you will see it again if you come to the UT game.... and also to whatever bowl game we end up in WHEN we beat Toledo....

AND if EMU can beat NIU, you can see the same show at the MAC Championship. Yeah, its not exactly time to say the FMB season is over. Jeff

A serious question. When the band does it's "rousing" rendition of the visitor's fight song, why does half the band direct it's sound in one direction (NE corner)while the other half directs the same sound in another direction (SE corner) That seriously dilutes/diminishes the production. The visitors most all sit in the SouthEast section of the stadium, so why not direct all the sound in that direction. It would be a much more impression production. ------ ps a number of people have made the observation, so it's not just me.

You know, I've never really thought about that. We just direct our sound toward the east 50-yard-line (that's why the left half of the band angles right, and the right half angles left). It's true, though, that the visiting fans don't sit on the 50! It probably has to do with making sure everyone in the band can see the conductor who is on the 50; that would only make sense. Anyone know for sure?

That indeed is why. On our homeside we have 2 drum majors around the 35 so we can face forward and always see someone. Towards the back though, unless we get another ladder and have someone else carry it, we have to face the 50 so we can see! I do not find this a problem because half the "rousing renditions" aren't rousing at all. I rather not have the announcer say what we are playing and let the fans try to figure it out. By the 2nd verse they might catch on
