RIP Ed Nickol

I don't know how many people who read this site knew him, but for those who might, Ed Nickol passed away Monday evening.
He had ties to BG, mainly through the Kelly's, who he knew well for many years.
He was the long time band director at Marion Local and built one heck of a program while he was there. In fact, I believe there was a collection of marches recorded years ago and the only US band involved in the project was his little high school band from Ohio.
He also taught at Brookville.
He was retired from teaching and had been working as a driving instructor as well as organizing and conducting the Ohio Valley British Brass Band. I got to know him from being in this band. He always got the most out of the talent he had to work with.
He became ill Monday night at rehearsal and was taken to the ER. He passed before they got him there.
He made a definite impression on everyone who met him.
If you knew Ed and have any serious interest in attending his services, PM me.
