Leadership is back at work today. "fledglings" come in tomorrow. Vets come Tuesday. I already miss it.

I miss it, too...last year was REALLY hard, but I think it'll get easier ;)
Definitely perfect Fundies Week weather...cuz everyone knows the sun ALWAYS shines on the Falcon Marching Band! (except in Mobile...) lol

I think this may be a first for fundies, or at least an extreme rarity: rain. Cannot recall one time the last five years that it rained at all during camp.

It's definitely not a first- in 2001 we spent most of the week in the gyms in Eppler because of the rain. Now that was an interesting Fundies week!

yeah...the nuguyes (sp?) spent this evening in two different groups in kelly learning all of the haces, attention, parade rest, etc. And it looks like there's the possibility that tomorrow morning's outdoor rehearsal might be moved indoors as well due to rain...the good news though is that the band fields look fantastic, although everything else around the fields themselves is mud...especially after this rain...

I don't know how I forgot about having Fundies week in Eppler in '01. That was...well...it was. I do remember now though that at one point the Euphs and Maggots said 'eff it' and went out in the rain anyways

Not trying to be argumantative here, but as a trugreen employee, I think the band fields look terrible. I don't see much grass anywhere on the field. Lost of weeds, crabgrass and nutsedge. Granted it is a brand new stand of turf and weeds will be a problem, but they waited until late June to seed the field. I'm sure by next year they will take the appropriate steps to alleviate these pests, but knowing that they were going to be constructing these fields, why the hell didn't they do it on time so that they could be brought to par properly?

My point is along the lines of everything else that is done every single summer. Not a single project on campus is ever under taken in the summer so as to not conflict with the student body returning to campus. Roads, roof leaks, building maintenance and now even the band field are all taken care at the least of opportune moments. I'm sure funding is partly to blame but eventually shouldn't they figure out that facility improvement construction on campus looks bad to students returning to campus? And certainly to their parents? Maybe they are trying to show that they are improving things to the student body, I don't know. I apologize for the rant, please finish going on with daily life.
