R.K. lands a big gig.

Post by NWLB »

Ryan Knowlin seems to have landed the gig as arranger for The President's Own USMC Band.

Makes him one of a number of CMA grads with the band now.

He was in my wedding. One of three horn players, not including my wife, who were. (Yeah, I signed the pants over way before getting hitched.) Got the txt this afternoon from her.

Which makes me wonder if he'll have time to do the BGSU arrangements for this upcoming football season. Kind of adds an extra bit of bragging rights if he does.

I can't understand how he does everything he does already... He's director of bands at BBHS where he directs the high school wind ensemble, marching band, jazz ensemble, symphonic band, eighth-grade band and assists with the seventh-grade band, he's the staff arranger for the FMB and the Kansas State Marching Band.... It's unbelievable...
I'm sure he'll still be able to write for the FMB - I know there's stuff already in the works in honor of the centennial. Major congrats to him.
