Alumni Band Registration - Online?

Just wondering if there is any possibility to put the Alumni Band registration online for next year. After receiving the newsletter last week, we only had one week to fill out the form, write the check, and snailmail it to the Band Activities Office. While this should be enough time, it can take a few days for everything to arrive for those who don't live near BG. It's also just easier/simpler for most people to register/pay online instead.

Unfortunately, this year we ran into a few technical issues with the database of alumni over at the Office of Alumni & Development (who produces and sends out the newsletter) which delayed distribution. As in past years, though not encouraged, registration forms that arrive after the deadline have largely been accepted without incident.

I do agree with you, Chase, in that it may be time to transition over to online registration for Alumni Band activities. This process will take a little time and planning to coordinate, but I think it is definitely something our alumni can expect in the future.

I am pleased to share with all band alumni that this year we will begin taking registrations for Homecoming ONLINE!

The Homecoming edition of The Mouthpiece will be sent out early this coming week, with the registration link going live shortly after. I'll start a new thread for Homecoming 2013.

Also, and don't forget, we are beginning the switch to the new alumni band jackets this year. More details will follow in the upcoming edition of the newsletter.

If we continue to purchase through the AD, it will. Since the alumni band logo isn't owned by the AD, we may continue to go it alone and continue to buy Adidas jackets for as long as they are available.

Going it alone would cost more and not be politically proper. Sticking with the AD would cause a potential varied look in "uniform".

Short answer: depends. There are some smart cookies on the alumni band board so this will be discussed with a resolution carefully weighed.
