20 Maggots!!!!!

Post by bgmaggot00 »

Well, as if you're looking at The Zoo, the section leader may note that the Maggots have reproduced very well this year. They had one move over to the Baritones (boo), one never show up to camp (me), and they still cut people to get down to 20 maggots. They're borrowing some sousas from Defiance HS, and marching 12 or 14 in pregame, and 16 in Halftime I believe. Hope this helps, Jeff "29 fliccs is about 25 too many"

BTW, we've got a maggot email list going now if any of you maggot alums want to be on it and keep up with the current brand of stupidity.

Well, I'll have to give serious consideration if my daughter is going to make it to Homecoming.

I can't tell you all how pleased I am that the FMB is bouncing back as fast and as impressive as it has. I see the new era is going to make it very difficult for we alumni to pine on about how much "better the band was when we were marched."

I can't wait for homecoming now!

I think that's great! I rather have everyone in the stands saying "I wish we could have been this good" or something along those lines. One thing the band needs to still do though is keep people in it. A lot of people stay for a year or two and then quit. If everyone stuck around and we keep getting 100+ coming in, I could see us marching 300 out there someday :D

Out of curiosity, does anyone know the biggest the FMB has ever been? (We're not it, are we?)

As for marching 40 maggots, you have to extend the growth spurt to every other section as well.... including my own. (Now that WOULD bring a tear to your eye. But more one of pain than of emotion... when the 15 piccolos tried to tune their high G-flats.)

Oh definitely. And while we're at it, let's change the band's uniform to navy blue, get rid of chair-stepping altogether, and make Hang On Sloopy the unofficial fight song instead of Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.

My daughter and I stopped by last Sunday to say Hi to Bonnie and I heard a small part of the America show. I was blown away! It sounded GREAT!

We were then surprised while in the cemetery watching the band march by. So many maggots (I got a glare from one maggot when I yelled "GO MAGGOTS). My future drum major proceeded to 'march with the band' as they continued down the street.

From what I saw and from what I heard, this band is going to be one of the best sounding bands. Ever.

It's nice to know the band hasn't changed that much.

This one time, at band camp...........

Better than 1991? That is saying something....I can't wait to see them in person. Way to bring the pride back FMB!

Now if I can just get someone to videotape the show :-\
