OK, so I was wondering if there are any plans to have an A-band at the CCHA hockey games two weekends from now. The tournament band will be in Cleveland at that point for the MAC Tourny, and I think that it would be a huge blow to the Home-Ice atmosphere that we EARNED to not have a band there at all. The fans would be subjected to 3 hours of the "Final Countdown" and "Cotton-Eye Joe." over the PA. BLAH.
But I'm sure that between the other A-Band, ringers like myself, and alumni, we could put together quite a good band for the games. The same holds true for the games up at The Joe in Detroit, if in fact we get there. I'm just wondering what the possibilities were for something like this. Thanks, Jeff

Alumni-wise, that might be pretty short notice to get anything together. I would be all about it, but that's my weekend to work. Don't know if I could get it covered. If this were to turn out to be a reality, I think it would be best to try and send a student band and invite alumni to try and fill it in some more. It would have to be put together really soon to have a chance at getting anyone.
If anybody decides to try and look into this and you get anywhere with it, be sure to let us know. I'm sure you would get at least a few alumni to help out. If Jeff still reads this board, maybe he could at least send out an email.

This is a great idea, and I have only one message for you A-banders:
DO WHATEVER YOU POSSIBLY CAN TO GET A BAND THERE FOR THE HOME ICE SERIES!!!
This team has fought hard to get to this point and they deserve all of the support that they can get - and even more. And no, the MAC Tourney IS NOT more important than this series. Not by a longshot.
Thank you, Jeff, for starting this.

Lets get something straight here...there may be two athletic bands, but that is for the regular season. Over spring break we form a tournament band every year for the MAC Bball tourney. This tournament band is only composed of a few people on each instrument because the MAC I believes pays for our hotel stay. If the CCHA wants to spring the money to pay for another band to stay at a local hotel, then I'm sure people would stay for that as well. Does the hockey tearm deserve it, yes...of course! But until this past week, no one knew if we'd have a home game. Things like this over spring break can't be planned that fast...
