Well Strouse and myself just put them in the cases so there hasn't been any official announcement yet. They are in though and you can pick them up whenever!!

Metz, et. al... I'll be posting the MP3's sometime this weekend. If anyone knows of any reason why I couldn't or shouldn't do this, please let me know ASAP.

It should be fine, as long as everything's cited and stuff. The band program sells them for cost, I b'lieve, not for profit.

Well, for those of you who aren't in the band, if you'd like to download the current FMB CD, it's available here:

This just makes me angry. The FMB CD should not be online. If someone wants the CD they should pay for it just like everybody else. Why do you get it for free when I had to pay my hard earned money for it? The profit made from these CD's goes back to the FMB and makes our awesome marching experience possible. I ask that you take it down, and that if you have any problems with my request please email me at [email protected] Thank you.

While I see the argument, I for one will respectfully disagree. The CD's we paid for are NOT made available to the public/alumni. I personally think that we need to produce more CD's for public distrubtion. You look at almost every major university marching band, they put out a new CD about once every class (4-5 years). Then they also tend to put out special CD's whenever the football team does something good (as much I hate to do it, the OSUMB put out a CD when they won the National Title ::puke:: ). Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only recording the FMB has ever released was "Pride" a couple of years ago. I know that was recent, but there was some talk of releasing a Motor City Bowl CD last year, and there has been some rumbling of a "Frontiers" CD too. I wish we would release something like that, cause I know they sell like hotcakes, and are great loved by the alumni (both of BGSU, and the FMB). Yeah, it does kinda suck that some people get it for free when I had to pay (particularly when I had to work my ass off to record the music), but I would MUCH rather have people enjoying my music than making a few extra pennies.

No offense, but no profit is being made off offering these songs online. Actually, it costs money to support these files due to bandwith. If the CD was offered publicly I would purchase it, but seeing as how it's not this is how I must get it.

If there is any profit it is most likely exteremly small (less that a dollar a cd) and would go to recording services, or the CMA, not directly to the FMB.

Well, yeah, I can see them rounding the price off so we're not buying them for like $12.37. (I really don't remember at all how much they cost.) But it's not in any way a fundraiser for the band or anybody else. Which you already know.
