Copy-pasted from the football forum.

Date Opponent
September 3 at Wisconsin
September 10 at Ball State
September 21 [Wed.] at Boise State [ESPN2/8pm (ET)]
October 1 TEMPLE
October 8 OHIO
October 15 at Buffalo
October 22 WESTERN MICHIGAN
October 29 AKRON
November 5 at Kent State
November 15 [Tues.] at Miami [ESPN2/7pm (ET)]
November 22 [Tues.] TOLEDO [ESPN2/7pm (ET)]

Speculations:
We come up with two shows before the Temple game (maybe performing one of them at Wisconsin?), perform one of them at the Temple game and one at the Ohio game. Looks like the only repeat will be Western Mich and Akron? Is this going to be only a four-show year?

Thoughts:
Say goodbye to band morale. Six weeks without having had a home performance. And we thought it sucked waiting for the Sept 11 game this year. Yuck.

Its doubtful, but I am hopeful. Its hard to get a travel-worthy show ready in that amount of time.

There is no reason for repeats! In those 6 weeks, you guys could easily learn all of the shows. Then when it comes time to actually get them ready for the field, you will just review and clean up. It can be done and if you all keep your spirits high and make it enjoyable for the freshmen, the band morale will stay up!!

True, it's possible we could learn three in the first six weeks, which would eliminate the need for repeats.

I'll gladly keep my spirits up for six weeks, but you know what's going to happen. People are going to get irritable and start snapping at each other, rehearsals are going to slow down, moaning and groaning will prevail. It's hard to work your butt off two hours a day outside in the heat for six weeks with no payoff, and though it could happen, I'm not seein' it.

But-- I shall remain optimistic. If we vets can keep our eyes on the future and stay cheerful and energetic, the nugeyes will follow suit. So let's everybody work on that in our respective sections... you never know... it might just be crazy enough to work!

I won't be there...isn't that a good enough reason to have fun?!

We're looking forward to seeing you all in action, probably at the Ohio game. We missed the show at the Western game last year (Noah & The Freaklings had to get a shot at the inflatables in the Kids Zone before they deflated them), but loved the effort in rain-soaked Mobile.

:)

I agree. Hopefully they'll plan some stuff for us to do in our free time. Oh god, I'm talking like I'm marching next fall :ugh: Or *gasp* maybe a couple Friday's off now and again :coo-coo: I'd love to travel to Wisconsin... or maybe Boise :P

ONE IF BY BAND, TWO IF BY ME!!

I honestly think that we can at least learn three shows in that 6 weeks, and hopefully we will...Just as long as all vets take responsibilities for themselves as well as the nugeyes (or at least until the nugeyes get the hang of things). It'd be nice if we can at least get all of the music memorized and checked off before the first home game as well as get a few complete shows on the field, but I doubt it'll happen. We'll just have to see come late August and September...Oh and if it just so happens that the Band isn't at the home game during Fall Break...I'm sure we can scrounge up enough people to get at least a Pep Band there...

Next season is going to be a bitch. No home games until October, two one week wonders, and a game over fall break...jeeze I think you all are capable of pulling of a great season, however, I am really glad that I am not marching next fall

I know there has been some concern over whether the FMB would be at the OU game or not. I think there is a better chance of classes being cancelled than the FMB missing a home football game. If I recall correctly, they don't close the dorms over fall break, but they do over thanksgiving, and I've had to march games the day after thanksgiving, so...The FMB will be at the OU game.

Y! E! S! YES!!!! The best saturday morning rehearsal we ever had. That was the day that Ryan Nowling tackled me and then started piling snow on top of me (all because the snowball meant for Hu To missed and hit him, jeeze  ) That was a lot of fun!

that day was a blast!! There was even a mini snowman on the scaffolding... and I believe Dr. Moss attempted to "shovel the field so we could see the yardlines"... if we're talking about the same year ;)
