Isn't this a problem for schools in the 1960's??? I mean really. What year is it again??? What's that I just heard on the radio? Did Eminem really just drop 15 F-bombs in a row that all had to be bleeped out even though we know what he's saying? And they're worried about "Louie, Louie?"

Never heard the Beer Barrel thing, but that does sound like a Toney-ism.
They're banning Louie, Louie??? WTF??? Under that guise the next song to be banned should be Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4". After all the song is one long acid trip

I honestly think some people are too soft and too nice. Life Lesson 1) No matter how hard you try, you can't please all of the people all of the time. You can please some of the people all of time, and all of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time. If someone really has a problem with "Louie Louie" then they have bigger problems that some obscure song lyrics (like having their head shoved so far up their own ass they're breathing through their navel)

From what I understand about that whole Beer Barrel thing was it was bad timing. I believe we had just had a student killed because of either a drunk driver or he was driving drunk. I thought he was asked to not play it for that one game. I believe it was back the next game which was couple of weeks or so from the incident. It is on the 1997 and 1998 FMC cd's and one of those would have been his first year, 98 I believe.

This guy is obviously a huge a-hole, or the kids
believe that there are terrible lyrics in the song.
Hell - my MB played My Sharona ("I always get it up for the touch of the younger kind") and Blister in the Sun ("I'm high as a kite, I just might, stop to check you out") in the same show.
someone send the D_ckweed this:
the "real" lyrics to "Louie Louie" are about as racy as a Neil Simon script, and almost as dumb. What's more, we have the assurance of the man who wrote the song, one Richard Berry, that the Kingsmen did not spice it up in the studio.
The song was about seven years old when the Kingsmen recorded their version in 1963, and the fantastic legend that grew up in its wake--a legend that even an FCC investigation couldn't kill--seems to have sprung solely from their extraordinary lack of elocution.
Berry, who spoke on the subject a while back to a Los Angeles interviewer named Bill Reed, explains the song as the lament of a seafaring man, spoken to a sympathetic bartender named Louie. Here, without further ado, are the "official" published lyrics:
"Louie Louie, me gotta go. Louie Louie, me gotta go. A fine little girl, she wait for me. Me catch the ship across the sea. I sailed the ship all alone. I never think I'll make it home. Louie Louie, me gotta go . Three nights and days we sailed the sea. Me think of girl constantly. On the ship, I dream she there. I smell the rose in her hair. Louie Louie, me gotta go. Me see Jamaican moon above. It won't be long me see me love. Me take her in my arms and then I tell her I never leave again. Louie Louie, me gotta go." (By Richard Berry. So, they banned the song because of the "raunchy" lyrics... You can't even understand the lyrics!! Seriously, does anyone know any of the lyrics besides "louie louie"? :coo-coo:

I can't stand that this idiot superintendant removed the song because ONE PARENT called.
But - they were allowed to play it.
