Normally I can't stand most of the !#@$! that comes out of ESPN regarding college athletics. However, while searching espn.com for something about the Fiesta Bowl, I came across this short article by Jack Arute. True, half the time he doesn't know his head from an endzone, I'm glad to see he put this together. All I can say is "You're damn right!" and "It's about time!"

It probably won't get there, but I did respond to the column. My fiancee and I were just talking about this last nite as another "half-time" score show, with 3 guys in a box summarized what I'd just been watching as well as showing and talking about other games that day. BRING BACK THE BAND SHOWS!! It'll be interesting to see if they show the Orange Bowl show, traditionally the biggest and best, tonite, or "reflect" back on the other games.

I'm watching the Rose Bowl, and when the second quarter ended I came in here to my room to spend a little time playing Text Twist before the second half began.
A few minutes into halftime, however, I distinctly hear- could it be??- marching band music coming from the living room. I rush in, and, to my shock and elation, ABC is showing the USC marching band's halftime show!!

Both they and the Texas band each received a good 2-3 minutes of air time. 8)
How COOL!!! Combine that with reading the "Respect the Bandies, yo!!" article, and I am one puffy little band geek right now.
I left a highly complimentary response for the columnist.

Well, they always show the bands at half time of the Rose Bowl, so sorry to burst your bubble, but its not like anything changed...

Alright, so rather than watching the national championship game, you were playing text twister! And you got up to run into the other room because you heard....the marching band! My heart breaks for you!
Anyway, the article was sweet.....and although he mentioned schools that were obviously not BG....probably because he too knows are directors dont have the skill of those bigger places.....he referred to me as a behemoth! Thats right...I Mr. 6'4 172 pounds solid, am a bohemoth!
And just for the record....the script ohio is stupid! When they do a script sentence then I will care....TBDBITL The Biggest Dousche Bags in the Land!
And the purdue drum....I have hit it!!

Now, if you had read my post carefully enough, you would have seen that I went to my computer at
halftime. I watched the entire game, thankyouverymuch. :duh:
Oh, and Erica, I never said anything about things changing. I was just thrilled to see the bands on TV, especially right before I read that killer article.

"are" should be "our", if we're talking about skills...

Who has a degree and is working directly in the linguistics? Not you. I think he's allowed a screw up or two. He probably thought that he was speaking Finnish, Russian or something along those lines. Jeff

Hey, if I hadn't corrected it, I'm sure that Emily would have. I wasn't trying to be rude, mind you. Hence the winky face! Observe:
