AD Extended

Athletic Director Derek van der Merwe has been extended through June 2030.

Among the items he is credited for in the press release:

-highest student athlete GPA in university history
-“record” for giving and unique donors
-integrating the university’s “Life Design” program, equipping student athletes with skills for careers and lives after sports
-growing student and community engagement in BG athletics

Along with Jim Elsasser retiring in June, Stacy Kosciak Deputy AD is leaving BGSU very soon also.

Glad this is happening with DVDM at the helm still. I trust his hiring skills so far and think he will try to find the best fit, not the easiest hire.
