Looks like Skyline Chili bit the dust. Tried to take the kids there for lunch the other day and it was closed and the sign was down.

Yes! I knew that - I can't remember what is going in there. Lemme look and see.

*EDIT* There is a bar going in there, Whiskey Dick's (formerly Checkers, down by South Side 6) which is owned by the guy who owns Kami's and Long's Cleaners.

So we're getting another bar with holes in the floor that's overpriced.

There's actually a whiskey dick's down by wal mart, must be hoping for better business in a more central location.

Same bar, just moving locations. It gets great business where it's at. Not sure why Rick is moving it.

That's too bad. Aside from SBX and the University, does BG have a really good bookstore in the style of Waldenbooks? I assume there's a Borders or B&N in the new P-burg development, but losing a store like that actually *in* BG hurts (as Ohiogal has demonstrated. :D )

The next closest Borders is on Monroe Street in Toledo. Levis Commons has a Books-A-Million.

I think Walden Books is going away as a business. It can't compete with Borders, et al.

Besides, the only regulars to the malls anymore are kids (around here, at lesat). We all know how much they like to read.

My son reads a lot. My daughter, not so much, but she still reads quite a bit. We've always encouraged it.
