Grant, The way this was originally worded, I thought they were going to take OUT the trees...then our neighbors to the north could've REALLY had a good time... (How many trees do THEY have, by the way?)

Agreed. When I read the headline, I also thought they were going to take trees OUT!! Glad to see I was wrong. What they are doing is VERY COOL!!!

Never understood the one tree thing for BG. I guess from I-75 the view is pretty unimpeded but the central campus seems fairly leafy. UT has many more trees-the Ottawa River (think Poe Ditch cubed) is entirely lined with trees and there are a number of heavily forested areas, particularly behind Parks Tower and the sorority/frat houses inthe old south Campus. Not sure how long its been since you've seen UT campus '61 but its really pretty attractive for the most part.
