I finally sat down and looked through the university's "master plan." Sorry if there is already a thread for this, I looked but couldn't find anything (outside of specific ones about the Stroh and Wolfe centers).

When looking at this it seems almost every building on campus needs upgrading of some sort. I know of the building of new dorms and many of these things are already being upgraded or are in the plans to be(Stroh, new dorms, Wolfe Center, Hockey).

Does the master plan go beyond, The Northwest Residence Hall, The South-Central Residence hall, Stroh and Wolfe centers? I know of the hockey upgrades in the future. Will the Doyt be receiving a face lift / structural upgrades in the future?

I know I'm kind of late to the party here, but as a young alum who is planning on donating to the university I love, I'm curious as to whats going on.

According to that, the math building is listed in poor condition. From spending countless hours a day in the building, I must somewhat agree. There are two lecture halls in the building that need major upgrades. Many of the offices lack proper temperature control (heat is on all year, no heat). Many of the buildings need cosmetic upgrades, but the upgrades needed in the math building tend to go beyond cosmetic and are more about the inner guts.

Agreed football guy. I would think the most pressing academic buildings would be; Math / Science and then University, South, and Hannah.

I know a lot of offices from Hannah are moving to the Wolfe center.

University, Hannah, Mosely, and South all need major reconstructive surgery. I held SI sessions in University, and many of the rooms have chalkboards with holes in them, and the rest are in worse shape. Mosely has a major heating problem, no elevator, and the bathroom situation leaves a lot to be desired. I never had classes in South, but I've been through the building and know that it is a disaster. The problem, however, is that Mosely, University, and Hannah are original buildings (correct me if I'm wrong), and the administration may not be willing to do much overhaul on these buildings for historical reasons.

It's a Sentinel-Tribune article which talks about the upkeep needs of the university and how the "Traditions Buildings" - University, Moseley, and Hanna Halls are up for major renovations.

I really, really hope they keep the facades of the "Traditional" buildings as they are, or as they look now. I would really hate to see these three buildings change in appearance from the outside.

I agree. It to me is the only part of campus that is truly attractive and we missed the boat not trying to make every building somewhat similar.

I agree 100%! Look, I love BGSU, and it will always be dear to my heart. But compared to many of the campuses I have been on, we fall short in a lot of ways in the overall look of our school. I have never understood the blandness in design of many of our buildings, the lack of appealing landscaping and trees overall, and the randomness of the placements of some of our buildings. Some of them looked just mashed together in places. Very little aside from our older buildings have a consistent look or feel to or about them. I once had a friend tell me the campus looked more like a penitentiary than a university. Ouch! Now I do think these new buildings will enhance the campus, but we still need to work on the existing facilities, plant some trees, just make the place look pleasing to the eye. I know we hurt ourselves over help ourselves when it comes to this with prospective students. I used to be a tour guide at BGSU and when a comment was made about the overall appearance of the campus (aside from the quad by University Hall which was often very nice), it wasn’t often good. Most people tend to really like the older buildings that look collgeiate with the mature tree compared to the block-buildings and more open spaces.
