men's XC 9th at MAC championships
men's basketball 1-4 as of 11/27

Can you do a fair analysis and look at records year by year for every sport over the last 10 years or even back over the last three athletic directors. Right now the data you have given us is so small of a sample size it makes any comparison impossible. More data will strengthen your case. I think what you will find is every sport cycles up and down, but that is just my theory.

I know that if a coach had a similar record in his fourth or fifth year on the job, he would have a lot of people screaming for him/her to be replaced!

Key word being COACH, you aren't talking about a coach.

I will say you are a first, I have never heard a fan of any school want an AD fired and use his/hers "win-loss record" as a reason. The dirt on him that you say you have and never reveal to us on here, if its that bad then fine use that as your reason, but I really don't think his win-loss record is going to be the thing that gets him fired from here, if he gets fired from here

That theory is especially true when its come to the "non-revenue" sports. Softball and volleyball are top good example, couple years ago both were at the top of the conference competing to win it, only to have a couple down seasons the past two years, but I expect both to return to the upper half of the conference sooner rather then later with the talent each is returning

To me those documents point to a truly sad state of affairs in the overall "health" of BGSU sports. Hockey appears to be righting itself due to the efforts of the alumni of the program but the department still needs to follow through with their plans for the arena. In other words, phase 2 of the renovations need to be completed. He can try to take credit for that if he wants but you'll never convince me that he was wasn't lining the program up on the chopping block before the alumni and community cried foul....

I completely agree.......he was the PROBLEM until Dr Cartwright stepped in! Let's just hope he doesn't destroy other sports before someone stops him. He will try and take credit for the Stroh Center also, and it was 90% done before he ever stepped on campus.

Maybe he was looking out for the other programs while letting the hockey program fold. Maybe we could have brought back men's track or something. Or there would be more available funds for other programs if the hockey program was folded. Just saying... And remember, I'm not a hockey fan.

Unlike men's track, hockey is a revenue sport and continues to outdraw bouncy ball. Even at its lowest, it has has had an overall higher attendance average than hoops. This year attendance is up so I expect that trend to continue as the product on the ice improves.

It surprises me that you're not a hockey fan...it has the physicality of football with a lot of the same tactics as basketball, with a little soccer thrown in. Perhaps all of those different aspects thrown together is too difficult for you to grasp? :-D ;-)

Soccer sucks. Anything that has an element of soccer, by correlation, therefore sucks. 8-)

That, and I never really learned to skate. Since I can't play it, I'm not interested in it. :finga:

Neither did I but it never kept me from enjoying and learning the sport. BTW, the elements of soccer relate only to the idea of off sides. Other than that, the rest is closer to basketball.

Have you ever been to a game? Just wondering....
