Should Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba become our "official" fight song?

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Heck no!

It's not a "fight song" in any sense of the phrase. It is a cheer song - it gets the students involved (which is great).

A fight song has a particular sound and feel to it, and Aye-Zig doesn't have that.

Change decades of tradition because a few people are too dense to distinguish between the two songs. At least they have a good reason. ](*,)

Sometimes I wonder whether the "editor" actually ever reads the articles written by columnists...

Something I found funny earlier this year during the staff's weekly college football pick'em is the sports editor (who isn't a Michigan fan, likely an OSU fan) picked against Michigan for a game, and in the comment said something about Denard Robinson doing poorly in the game. You would think someone who is the SPORTS editor for any sort of newspaper would know sports enough to know that Denard is in the NFL

Didn't the BGNews have a Sports Editor a few years back, who admitted that he never attended a hockey game while a student at BGSU?

HELL NO!! While I love Aye Ziggy, it is NOT a fight song. This would be like OSU making Hang on Sloopy a fight song. It should not happen. What should happen is the University needs to actually TEACH THE FIGHT SONG to all incoming students! Students at Orientation and Welcome Week(end) are bombarded with AZZ and the fight song and Alma Matter get brushed under the rug. It needs to stop, and ending this idoitic bid to marginalize Forward Falcons is a good start.
